I own a '92 Celica ST.
Not the best car in the world out of the factory.
So I have a 4AGE 20V Silvertop swap from a Levin/Trueno.

I've been to a couple of the Newnan Advance/Taco Mac meets, where people told me to sign up here.

Yeah, it's the GT4 hood.
It's the ST model, so it came stock with the 4AFE.
The GT/GTS models come with the 5SFE, and the AT/GT4 is 3SGTE.

It has VVT, so when I hit 4k, it advances timing 5* and really opens up.

I was at the Newnan meet where everyone left Autozone to go to Taco Mac.
I hung around with the guys who drive miatas, since I know Kris and Logan.

You might have seen it. My left headlight sticks up.

I live in Lakeside, so the meet isn't far from me.

There's only a couple of other things I can do engine-wise and still keep this engine, then I'm working on the body. I'm debating on whether or not to go for a body kit or GT4 RC bumper and widebody fenders.
If I decide to do more engine work, I'm getting a 7AFE block and mating it to my 4AGE 20V head.
I don't want to go 4AGZE 'cause that's common.

Nice car!!! Almost looks like an AllTrac too

The only thing that'd make it look more like an AllTrac is being a hatchback.
And no thanks to that one.
I prefer the coupe body.

I had to take it to three different places to get my emissions tested (first guy kept stalling it, second guy couldn't idle it, third guy got it on the second try). The second guy wouldn't believe me when I told him it wasn't the 2.0 Turbo. I think the lack of turbo and the huge TWIN CAM 20V should've given that away.

haha, yeah.
I stayed at Advance for a while to talk to Kris and Logan (miata guys), and then we came. By the time we got there, the table was packed. so we got some food and cruised around town.

I passed after I took it to three different people.
Nobody could get it to rev in the right rpm/mph range.
Third guy got it though.

I saw that picture on the Newnan meets thread, which is the reason I joined IA. Had no idea I wouldn't be able to post in it for a month.
Even CelicaTech isn't that strict.

I still want your front bumper, Tony. I told you, it's CS/RC or I'm gonna make it look like Trance4c's.

Where'd you find yours, then?
My car actually requires that bumper. Yours? Not so much.

LOL. You're joking right? I hope you are. No ones car REQUIRES it except for people that want better airflow for an intercooler or JDM tyte conversions. I bought it from the dealership.

How much was it? Remember? I might have to get one.
And, incase you forgot, I have one of those JDM tyte conversions. I wanna throw some low boost on the 20v. It can do 8psi without any mods.

90CelicaST
01-03-2010, 12:31 AM
$145 for aluminum bumper, $195 for bumper cover. I meant the body conversions, like Johns. I wouldn't trust the stock plenum at 8psi :P

Captain Fake CS/RC. It's a clean conversion, and we all know it, but he's too busy flying them airplanes to drive it. haha

And damn, dude, I don't think I'd pay $350 for just the CS front. Maybe I'll find a wrecked car at the junkyard or catch one on ebay one day.

I want to set up the 20v as much as possible before I get into my real project: Frankensteining a 4AGZE, a 7AFE, and a blacktop 20v.

90CelicaST
01-03-2010, 02:00 PM
7AGZE could be fun, I'd rather turbo it, but that's just me :P

Nah, dude. I want the block from the 7a, the pistons and such out of the 4agze, and the 20v blacktop head. Then turbo.
I know 7age works turboed. Blacktop I wanna try.
Wiring nightmare. Tweak'll do that, though.

If your gonna be tearing the motor down why not go fully built?

Eh, not much frankenstein-ing going on then. You'd be better off getting lower compression 20v pistons. It will become interference without prepping the 4agze pistons, if you get the right pistons to begin with, you won't have that problem.

This is definitely my inspiration for wanting to go forth with the same plan.

Nice link.
I guess I'll go that route then, and not worry about getting a 4agze for parts.
I'd just heard people going 7agze, so I figured I'd one up it and do 20v.

That shit would look so much better in a Celica. I'm going to have to find another ST, then. Maybe a 6th gen this time so I have some variety.
