This has been a project in the works for a while since there are not too many aftermarket parts made for the J30. Have been doing research to figure out what other Nissan suspension parts fit to try and lower it.

A friend of mine that has a z31 300zx saw my front suspension and said it looked similar to his car. He let me try out the lowering springs he had and it worked. So for the front it has Z3R 300lb/inch 1.5" lowering springs. These normally lower the 300zx only 1.5", but it made about a 3-3.5" drop for the J30.

Next came time to figure out what would fit the rear. The suspension in the rear is very similar to the s13 and z32 300zx. So went ahead and bought some used JIC coilovers for a s13 since the J30 and s13 have the bolt though mount on the bottom. Only issue I ran into initially is that the upper strut mount were different. Luckily it was able to be swapped and installed successfully.

You need to pick up last month's Project car magazine, they do a full build up of an M30 which is somewhat similar, i know a lot of s13/s14 parts will work with a little bit of modification. Nice ride btw!

Thanks for the responses! It is a fun car to work with since not many people know about them or even consider doing anything to them. Do have a few more mods in the works and can post some pics of whats under the hood and whats installed. Its my fun DD.

I never seen one modded. My buddy pops got one with 35k original miles on it, put the touring wing on it to spruce up the rear some.

Yah I am either waiting on a friends Dad's J30t to finally die and I can part it out or I may go ahead to a junkyard and get parts. I was thinging about doing the J30t wing and possibly the mudflaps or atleast see how it looks. This weekend I am going to work on doing the smoked tails.

I love it, find some wheels with offset in the +20-25 range and it will be perfect. I say the less you do to the body the better.
