I'm about to do a full tune up on both my bikes(oil, oil filters, spark plugs (http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=71156#) and air filters) and flush the cooling system on my 99 GSX-R750.

I've done plenty of oil changes but never messed with the coolant on a motorcyclehttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif (http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=71156#).

My question is is there a certain antifreeze I need to use (in the GSX-R) or will any premix antifreeze work?

Thanks

make sure it's prediluted or mix it 50:50....unless you just like working on bikes.

stay away from the dex (orange) crap too!

with my comment... Most people have common sense. The majority know to add water or use 50/50. Just go to autozone and buy a jug that mixes with anything.

i put water wetter (red line) in mine. but these bikes have cooling issue's in summer traffic. I also go ahead and change clutch's/steels while i'm at it. but hell i change those like 3 times a year anyway lol

yea my gsx-r gets really hot in the summer. I'm also going to run the water-wetter in my drz400 dualsport because of the trail riding I do. That thing gets hot as hell fighting threw mud and tight trails.

Doesn't have to be that way.

I run a 70/30 80/20 mix in most my cars. water/coolant. It doesn't HAVE to be 50/50.

But I do agree, dexcool is SHIT ....UNLESS you change it very very regularly.

I had some soft grippy 80/20 tires put on my drz and that thing would fly around some corners up in the mountains. Right now I have full on dirt bike tires on it for winter trail riding. In fact I took it out yesterday to a abandon construction site and found a swamp in the tall grass. Its covered in weeds and mud from top to bottom. :goodjob:

There really fun bikes to play with but the only thing is, I wish it was lighter.
