Ever notice how most Mac users are skinny? It's because of all the calories they burn because they can't shut the fuck up about how great their Macs are. What is it about Apple that makes its users unable to shut their mouths? Everywhere I go, there's another asshole with a Mac preaching about how much better Macs are than PCs. They regurgitate lines directly from Apple's marketing campaign, like "it just works." I have the following rebuttals to this argument:

1. If everything on a Mac just works, then why does a website called "Mac fix it" exist, assholes? Here are a few choice topics on macfixitforums.com (http://www.macfixitforums.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=Forum35):

I don't know why Mac users get so defensive when you call them idiots. Back in the late 90s, everyone used Real Player. Then those cocks at Real Network got greedy, and tried to get their application to take over your entire PC, and people stopped using it. Same thing is happening with Quicktime now. You can't install Quicktime anymore unless you download bullshit iTunes. This section was supposed to be longer, but I couldn't even install iTunes so I could bitch about it. Not that I could have used it for what I wanted to anyway

lol, I changed a bit to reflect Subaru's current marketing scheme right now based on new users on here and WRXatlanta.

But honestly, I live in a house with 4 other guys and our total computer count is 4 PCs, 3 macs. The Macs have their purpose for music production/ art manipulation. PCs are better for most everything else and most of the reasonable people will realize that. And the most hardcore of guys will keep their Macs disconnected from the internet so that the cookies you get from surfing sites wont slow down Protools, Reason, Photoshop, etc.

I just can't see myself paying so much more for the name. Most of the shit they put out is retarded and they charge out of the ass for it. Wasn't the Macbook Air like 1,600??? For What?! A laptop that's thinner than the rest? It still has the same width as any other macbook/laptop so either way you STILL need a backpack/laptop bag or whatever to carry it. But low and behold some people out there were duped into buying it. I noticed people get stuck on the whole Apple scene and feel that everything needs to be together. For example, if they have a Macbook, they obviously have an ipod... Oh and that one mouse button shit is annoying as fuck too! And why can't I just double tap the mouse pad if I want to click. Do I really have to click the button everytime?! Fuck!

And while i'm on it, I'd like to point out how much I hate ipods also! Sure they're nice, I actually have one but that's only because I found one on the ground and it happened to still work. It's full of scratches and I only use it when I skateboard just waiting for me to fall on it. Personally i'd rather have a Sony, Panasonic, etc. MP3 player that would also double up as a flash drive (something you clearly can't do on an ipod). I also noticed out of the many MP3 players I've had, 95% of them still work to this day, and have never seen a harddrive failure common to ipods. And lets not forget I can always find one of my 20+ random basic usb cords I have around the house if I wanna plug it up to transfer or charge through a computer or xbox. If you lose the ipod-only connector, you're SOL until you decide to run to the electronics store to spend another 20 bucks just for an effin plug....

I know...my old iMac was the shit. And it still works without any problems. I got the PC laptop and it's failed on me 3 times. Hell, the first night I got it, it wouldn't even start up so I had to get a new one right from the get-go.

I got that iMac 8 years ago and it works better than this damn laptop that I got 1 year ago.

Please, its one or the other anymore. With apple you are paying for the brand and their "chosen" hardware, which incidentally is openly available PC hardware now. They truthfully lost their advantage in the photo/video editing world with the retiring of the RISC processor. Now windows and osx both are just front ends to the same x86 instruction set.

I do however find it humorous that apple finally gave up on their own kernel/underlying system and moved to a BSD based system. So for me at this point, OS X is not much more than a glorified window manager like KDE, GNOME, or Enlightenment (is that still even around LOL). Hell a majority of legacy Mac apps have to run in emulation. I would much prefer to pick my own hardware - and pay 1/3 the price of an Apple store PC, then throw OS X on it if i wished. But then again, i think ill just stick with Ubuntu and Centos and run win and osx in emulation windows as needed like i have for years.

Posting from a mackbook pro right now. I used boot camp to load windows XP (needed it for some apps at work that require windows). So I have the best of both worlds. Just chose my OS at start up. The Mac OS is not error free. It's supposed to be so great for video editing. As soon as I connect my Panasonic HD camcorder to it the OS locks up. One other weird thing is I get 4 hrs of battery life using the mac os. I only get about an hour using XP. I still can't figure that one out. :thinking: The fit an finish on this laptop is far superior to any Dell, Toshiba, HP, etc.
