View Full Version : Car broken into, bike stolen.
So..i just moved to Columbus two weeks ago for a new job. I moved into an apartment complex on the north side of town. This is a gated community and somewhat upscale. Two nights ago a zx-6r was stolen from the guy who lives under me. The police came, filed the report, and basically did all they could. There are cameras on the premises but nothing has been found yet (They are horribly positioned I guess.)
Last night my GSR was broken into. I'm not sure what time as I didn't see the damage until this evening. I leave early in the morning and it was pouring down rain so I just ran to my work vehicle and left. My fiance called me around 12 and told me that my driver's side window was broken and my radar detector was gone. I drive a 95 red Integra GSR with importatlanta stickers on the side windows. I haven't ever had any problems so I've kind of gotten in the habit of leaving my radar detector in the car. My bad I guess ;( Either way, keep your stuff safe if you are in the area. My assumption is that they were gonna try and steal the car but the alarm scared them off. The only thing that I can see they took was my radar detector, an Escort 8500 with the red display. I don't have any pictures of the bike that was stolen but I'll post them up here If the guy gives me any. This is really just a rant and warning to anyone in the area. Be safe and cautious this holiday season!
Here's my baby with all here windows :(

Perimeter monitoring for an alarm is a cheap add-on. Never understood people who want their alarms to go off AFTER the car has already been broken into.

Really? Could I get 1 from any car alarm dealer? About how much do they run for?

Yes --- -just ask for perimeter monitoring. Most alarms are modular and support the addition of the microwave sensor

sorry to hear about. no one is safe anywhere. well i cant say that my cousin has about 15 acres with his house in the middle of it. he has 12 mastiffs that have free roam of the property so most wont go there lol. i wish they legalize the alarm over sees where it toasts the person trying to break into the car.

Yeah, it's a Viper. It flashes about every 3 seconds. I believe they were gonna try and steal the car until the alarm went off. Then they just grabbed what was in reach and took off.

I've never even heard of perimeter monitoring but it would be nice to suggest something instead of being an ass about it. I've always considered my alarm to be the last barrier to someone actually stealing my car. I will def look into the perimeter monitoring now. I kind of need to figure out how it works. I live in an apartment complex and people walk by my car to get to theirs many times a day. I don't need it going off every time but as I said, I don't know how it works. Is this what you are talking about?

exactly why i left columbus and moved to woodstock. I had 2 fourwheelers and a dirtbike stolen before we left. Only got one fourwheeler back. Cops knew who was doin the shit all around town and we even told them and they wouldn't do anything to him because he was a minor. My dad took our 4runner down there labor day weekend and fuckers broke the passenger back window and stole all of the stereo system and gps. Did more damge to the 4runner then the stereo was worth but obviously i installed it too well for them. Thankfully they didn't find the amps:taun: I wouldn't ever go back there nor leave my car parked unattended. It's so bad down there, my aunt works at a winn dixie and their having cars broken into in broad daylight in their parking lot

^^ You're a dork. Why not just broadcast where your car sleeps at to 20,000 people. North/South/East/West Columbus is descriptive enough unless you're talking to a detective. Edit your post.
