These cars are so safe. I've seen many accidents where the driver and occupants get out unscathed. My friend Summer was really fortunate to be in a Subaru tonight...

I hate it for her because the car was her "baby", but I am truly thankful she is unhurt, much less alive!

damn, I've been in that same situation. down an embankment and hit a tree. although, I was not in a Subaru. glad she made it out alright.

I think pretty much all cars sold in this country have airbags. What I want to know is how this collision happened. Loss of control? Single car? Wet roads?
I am glad your friend is alive and well too.

I am glad your friend is alive and well too.The airbags are not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the structural integrity of the car itself. I've see head on collisions with Subarus and the front end hold up surprisingly well.

She was just riding with some friends and went off the road at about 40mph. I have an idea why, but I'm keeping that to myself.

That sucks. I'll take summer for a ride to make her feel better, and it doesn't have to be in my car...

When my Legacy got totaled in 2007, I walked away from the crash with minor bruises.

This was a 70mph collision with a drunk driver in a Ford Windstar minivan.

also I'll take what's left of the car if it still runs. PM me.

wow. they seem to hold up very well. dont seem to be any crumpling in the interior. just another reason to get an 04-05 STI in the future to put a baby seat in. :goodjob:

Glad she is ok...I can attest to the build quality, first hand.

Glad to here she is ok.
Doesn't beat the Volvo quality. I still miss my white 850R. EG's make great crumple zones.
This was at 40-45mph, woman just pulled out in front of me.

You cant compare a door strike on a small civic to a frontal impact on a medium sized Volvo.

This says nothing about the Volvo - just convinces me that I do not want to be the passenger in that civic driven by someone who cant drive!

The insurance institute now ranks Subaru over Volvo in safety.

these things are made to beat on, rally. I have seen a guy walk out of a WRX that got crushed between 2 18 wheelers. Hate to sell my WRX, but looking to upgrade with a nice Legacy GT (B).
