Aston Martin today releases the first official images of the 'Cygnet' – a new luxury commuter concept car.

The Cygnet concept represents a creative, environmentally conscious solution, being small, yet with presence – and highly fuel efficient, now combined with the prestige of Aston Martin's luxury brand ownership.

Work on the concept is ongoing and will continue into 2010 when it is hoped that it will become a production reality initially available to Aston Martin customers in the UK and Europe.

Its actually based off the Toyota IQ, if that matters to anyone.

Looks like Aston wants to charge $32,000 for this puppy. Any takers?

LOL hell NO!

You buy economy cars because they are cheap, reliable, and get good gas mileage. From a quick Google search, I found that the Toyota iQ will be sold for roughly $13,000. There is no way I would ever pay over double the money for some Aston Martin badges, a leather interior, and different taillights.

I'm sure there will be people out there willing to spend a mere $32k on it just to say they own an Aston Martin.

oh I would totally rock it too. I think the car is a cool idea even if the only reason they built it was so they could avoid additional taxes due to non-fuel efficient vehicles and they needed one that gets super high gas mileage to balance out the overall brand average...but you have to already be a preferred aston martin customer to ge on the list to purchase one

Yet my opinion remains unchanged. :D

Of course you wouldn't. But then again, you probably don't have $32,000 in disposable cash laying around either.

I'll be willing to bet they will sell every single one they make without anyone batting an eye. When someone can get into an Aston Martin for $32,000, they will jump at the chance all day.

Remind me of a Yaris.

I don't really like small, compact cars.

But hey, it's an Aston Martin.

That is the worst place for an iPhone dock, it's going to get all wiggly from starting and stopping, it will also probably snap off the plug thing in the bottom of your phone if you ever get in a wreck. Also, I'd rather just be able to get a hold of the Toyota iQ, as long as it is a decent car.

Seeing as it will be sold in europe, and the need for small cars is neccesary ther. because of the lack of space in the city. And they love their Aston Martins....im sure it will sell..

I'm not a big fan of ultra-compacts anyway... not really what I was expecting, but like everyone said... $32k for an Aston, people will be all over it!

My parents got the Mercedes badges for their Smart lol. It's perfect for infield parking at the track and being dragged by the RV. Their motorhome only has 1,200 lbs-ft of torque with the Banks setup so it's easier to pull than the average car...that was the excuse for getting it anyways bhahaha.

Good gawd, this is actually happening? I read rumors about an Aston supermini and didn't believe it.

This is what an Aston Martin would look like after it was put in a trash compactor.

It's a great laugh, yea...but I don't see any reason to put this into production.

I agree that small city cars work well in the rest of the world, but I don't see how a small city car made my Aston Martin makes any sense. :dunno:

In Europe, they worked out very well.

In America....not so much.

As I said, WE...as in the USA, are NOT the Global stage on automobiles. You will know this because 90% of the cars people post as badass.....are not American.
