Okay so I am not sure if this will be a repost or not & dont care because my foglights arent coming on when I hit the toggle switch & it is pissing me off.... Ive checked everything like unhooked power/grounds and nothing is unhooked, i then checked the fuse and it wasnt blown....

Ive only had them on my car & used them for about a month.... It was raining when they went out but did'nt know if water could get to the bulbs & blow them out or not....

Ive almost just gave up on trying to figure out why they arent coming on.... But im giving it a shot for some help if anyone has had this happen & im looking for any/all advice on what to do to get them working again....

Are they from Ebay ?
Some times the cheaper lights get a little wet and burn the wires up.
I had one do it once with mine. Had to open the fog light housing and saw the burnt wire.

Yeah it was the small ground wire inside mine that was burnt to a crisp. Then i had to replace a wire going to the housing. It was pretty easy....
Mine also happen on a day it was raining just FYI

If the bulbs went out at the same time you have a short issue

If the bulbs went out at the same time you have a short issueYou didn't mention high resistance.
No short to ground with no fuse blown
No short to power with them not working at all.

a94civicex

hmmmm dont know how I would have a short issue! everything is grounded out & powered up right! I will have to check it out but havent seen any ground issues or power issues anywhere....

check and seee if you have power going to the relay and see if you have power coming out the relay. also check the switch the ebay once tend to burn up the switchs but i would check the relay

a94civicex
12-16-2009, 01:00 PM
okay, like i said before the fuse is fine. wouldnt it pop a fuse though before the relay went out?

81911SC
12-16-2009, 06:16 PM
Why would it? Fuses will only blow if there is too high of amps running through them. Find another fuse in your car that's identical to that one and switch them and try it. (If you don't have to have it to test)

Okay, so what I did last night is unhooked the male/female connector that I had running through my firewall heading to provide power for my switch.... I unhooked them and got the power and hooked it up to my + battery terminal, meanwhile already having the main power line plugged up to the starter power! And it was grounded on the chasis, behind my front bumper.... After hooking the other power to my battery terminal I got nothing, no light at all.... I also didn't hear the relay clicking like it did when I first hooked evrything up, so my guess is that the relay went bad....

What do y'all think?

Yeah I posted this thread in the Honda section because I figured it would have been the proper place to start the thread since it's a Honda issue! But it was moved here! Thanks to the "TheDrunkScotsman"....

So I need all the help I can get with this problem because before I waste more money on another set and have it happen all over again, I'd like to figure out how to fix this problem....

im trying to get up ideas instead of doing 1 thing and not finding it.... i may buy a relay tomorrow....

Have you unplugged the bulbs, attach a KNOWN GOOD GROUND and checked voltage where the bulb goes in?

a94civicex
12-16-2009, 07:47 PM
nope, they are still in my bumper.... they are hooked up and grounded right because they worked fine for like a month then just stopped after it rained....

meaning that black block thing?

a94civicex
12-23-2009, 07:35 PM
yes.... meaning that black block thing with 4 copper feeds inside....

has anyone ever just wired the foglights up to their corner lights?

95droppedhatch
12-23-2009, 10:35 PM
i have wired them up to my corner lights but you might want to look to see if one of the relays in your fuse box under the hood is the same cause i think it is might be wrong but i think they are the same

a94civicex
12-23-2009, 10:40 PM
Like a 12v relay in my fuse panel in engine bay....

95droppedhatch
12-24-2009, 09:14 AM
yup check it out it may be the same :goodjob:

a94civicex
12-27-2009, 12:00 PM
Well the 12v fuses under the hood did line up but I'm still not gettig any light.... I'm just going to remove my front bumper & check the bulbs.... If the bulbs are good I'm going to just wire the fogs up to my corner lights & go from there, instead of trying to find the relay & just run my fuse off of it....

a94civicex
12-27-2009, 12:05 PM
Also what was the eaiest way to wire the foglights up to your corners? I don't want to rig it up that way but that's what it's coming to because trying to find that relay for my kit is hard....

95droppedhatch
12-27-2009, 12:26 PM
when i wired my fogs to the corner i just found the power for the running lights not the blinkers you can use a text light to find this or a wiring diagram and you can either ground it to the ground on the corner light bulb or just run it to a ground point on your chassis but run each fog to separate corners dont run it to one corner light

Theycall_Metue
12-27-2009, 12:42 PM
wire it up to your normal beam light, corner light wont be powerful enough to light up the fogs

a94civicex
12-27-2009, 12:43 PM
Okay.... If my bulbs aren't blown then I'm going to just run them that way.... If the bobs are blown do you know if they are H3 size bulb....?

95droppedhatch
12-27-2009, 01:29 PM

wrong the corners are powerful enough they are both 12v sources no different voltages at the plug:goodjob:

true that, but some arnt 12v.
but if you do run it that way, you want your fogs blinking with your corner lights?

95droppedhatch
12-27-2009, 03:13 PM
nope that is why you run it to the constant power for the running lights it is a three wire plue 1 wire for the ground 1 wire for the running and 1 wire for the blinker

a94civicex
12-27-2009, 09:13 PM
Which wire is the running lights wire so I know and can just splice into it instead of splicing all wires.... Green = Ground correct....?

Theycall_Metue
12-27-2009, 10:55 PM
normally a dull color is ground, like brown or black

if they are from ebay then the wires are usually backwards! mine where when i got mine and it will burn the wires up check the plugs and see if the prongs are in the right location cause ebay sends them backwards

If anyone located around me that knows how to wire them up to my running lights & bypass the Relay, send me a PM.... I need an extra hand so I don't mess anything up or cut a wire that doesn't need to be cut....

I need them to work again.... I can't stand them not working....!

also make sure the wires can handle the load when you hook it up, i have burnt wires before on lighting and have had a piaa relay go bad, but they sent me a new one for free(lifetime warranty), i may still have the old wiring for them which may help you out because its a better guage, let me look in my wire box to see i may be off I-20 at cascade road Weds morning.

JUST WIRE THE POWER WIRE TO YOUR POWER FOR HEADLIGHTS OR CORNER LIGHTS

GROUND TO ..... GROUND

Okay, after finding a new relay & plugging it up the foglights & still didn't work.... Harness more than likely was fried.... So then I just decided to cut the wire harness off (toss-it) and run each foglight to a chasis ground and power to the headlights power.... They are working like new again, FINALLY....

Thanks to everyone giving me their input & advice....

I'm going to run them to my running light eventually, for right now they work, so I'm satisfied with it....

Speaking of which, what color wire on my corner lights do I run the fogs too...? I believe I've got a green, black & red wire, which one will I need to splice in too to have them wire to my running lights....?

Seal the lens. But not around where the bulb goes. Keep water from getting in through the front. use a larger size of shrink wrap around the plugs so water doesnt get into there either

funny guy.... I don't know why people done get that the fogs are WORKING again.... Just need to know which wire to run them to, to have them come on with running lights, just need to know which color to splice them in to....?
