Head Swap....

I'm not trying to sound "like an idiot" but ive heard from a buddy of mine that he thinks I could pull the head off an old skool 89' integra (I think it would be the dohc zc head) & put it on my dseries block....:thinking:

If this is the case has anyone ever done the swap & what all is needed to do this & will it work or not?

Or is it a far fetched swap?

Yes the old ZC head which is on a SOHC block and would fit

IIRC the DOHC D16A1 (USDM 1.6l DOHC MOTOR found in the pre 90 integra) will swap to a SOHC block, but the benefit is almost nothing. YOu are better off doing a SOHC VTEC head, or swapping a SOHC ZC motor in.

The DOHC ZC motor is NOT THE SAME as the PRE 90 INTEGRA MOTORS

maybe only 2 lbs ase but from what i have studied with that head and pistons from the same motor it would be a pretty good bump in compression tell me if the honda builder bible is wrong and ill read it again, but if its easy and ups the power isnt it worth it sometimes? like i said tell me if i wrong.
