someone stole my 96 hatch silver shell blue fenders red bumper and vis carbon fiber hood si wheels rear disc conversion buddy club racing spec coilovers b16a2 swap the vin on the motor tranny and dash match and it all came out of my 00 si its been missing since wed night it was stolen just outside of columbia where i stay during the week

assuming when you put in the SI dash, you didnt pop off your old vin and put it on the new dash so all the vins are the same. when the cops check the dash vin and then check the door vin, they will question you why they are different.

let them question you...its just a fucking dash VIN people. As long as everything else matches (door and firewall) you shouldn't have a problem. I have an EM1 dash in my EX with the EM1 VIN still on the dash. I go through emissions once a year and all I do is let them know it has a new dash and show them that the door and firewall VIN match and they never say a word about it.

I would rather explain that i swapped a dash than have a VIN plate that looks like its been fucked with....unless someone can do rivets exactly like whats on there from the factory.
