so my EG with an ls wasn't running the best but it was running ok it would just rev itself a little... so my friend suggested we switch the plug that goes into the IACV... now the car runs horrible it tugs a lot for no reason and it wont pass 3 rpm... any suggestions?

my first would be to switch it back if u havent blown your ecu yet.

yeah when i switched it the first time it ran ok but it wouldn't rev past 3.5rpm... then it started like backfiring and turning off and running bad... then i switched it back like it was and it still didn't rev past three and it was acting up too like whenever i didnt give it gas it would want to turn off... i barely got it home... you're saying i need a whole new ecu?

ok well ill see if the car can stay on long enough to be able to get the codes

Barefoot

u dont need the car to be on to get the codes. koef will be just fine.

Forgot to mension that I got the car already swapped so I'm not sure if everything was connected right... And the plugs that I switched one of them is loose at all times I'm not sure what it would plug up to

yah pretty much im just looking for that code zero.

it wasn't running right to begin with, so he switches the plugs around and throws it in limp mode or fries the ecu. Then puts the plugs back and now it still has the original problem and the one he just created by putting the plugs on wrong. just a thought....

:D Limp mode did come to mind with that 3.5 restriction

There are 2 wires going to each connector.. The one that was originally plugged in had a red and yellow wire going to it and the one we switched it to had a black and yellow wire going to it

I don't really have an extra ecu lying around... You think that might be it?

p75

did you switch 2 wire connectors from iacv and another sensor or just connect an extra loose one to the iacv?

cel check
open the cover to the ecu and take a wiff...if it stinks you burnt it. possibly can be salvage/fixed.

get a pin-out diag and run continuitiy tests from the ecu connector to the plugs @ the sensors to make sure you get them wired correctly.

Yeah it is important not to mix up those connectors.
The ones people sometimes mix up are the IACV and the purge cut solenoid valve, maybe even the IAT
Correct wiring colors are:
IACV-blue/black & yellow/black wires
purge cut solenoid valve-red &yellow/black
IAT-green/white & red/yellow

This is all from memory but I'm pretty sure its correct. If you have something in the wrong place, put it in the right place. then see if it runs right; if it doesn't then try a new obd1 p75, they are pretty cheap. You probably have a "meteor strike" looking spot on the back of your ecu cover where you fried the voltage regulator in your ecu though.

Ok it wasn't the ecu, car cranked up and runs but still in limp mode. Its throwing codes 3,6,7,14 and 16. A friend of mine has some extra sensors laying around so we are going to try those. Also we noticed the harness has an extra plug on the passenger shock tower. Also, we looked at my friends car and the wires on the MAP sensor aren't alike. On my the car in limp mode, the wires are red, yellow and green. But on the running car the wires are 2 yellow wires and a green. Btw the harness used on the running car was a integra harness. The harness on the car in limp mode is unknown.

break out the multi-meter and check continuity like i said...don't ever rely in wire colors as they do change from harness to harness and chassis to chassis.
