my droid should be here tomorrow and i just activated my google voice account finally....anyone else using this crap? is it worth messing with? and tips/tricks?

i'm just glad to see verizon with a decent smart phone....i wanted an iphone but at&t aint worth a damn

google voice works with any phone....you can have a single phone # that controls every phone you have or use it with an existing number, but is available by invite from google only...i guess it helps to have had a gmail account since near day 1 like i have, my invitation was sent within a few minutes of requesting it

yea im with T mobile got the Newest blackberry its pretty awesome..

personaly not a huge fan of touchscreen phones but oh well

my google voice number is linked to my iphone app GV Mobile, now all my calls that go through my google voice number are airtime free, plus any outgoing call is airtime free as well, as long as I use my GV mobile app. plus it allows me to have 2 different numbers on the same phone.

plus with Google Voice, Fring app, and a Gizmondo5 you can set up your iphone or smartphone to make calls with out a sim card installed, so long as you have wifi access.

sorry to say that, while the driod OS is pretty decent, the phone it self is going to be crap, mostly cause it is made by Motorola which is not a good producer of phones.

yeah, i have the g1 until i switch to verizon. idk if i'm getting the Eris or Droid yet.

i'm just letting people know, so they don't think that's the final product of the phone. because i thought my phone royally sucked at first, but now it's pretty good.

I hated google voice. It's a cool concept but overall sucked.

I guess it really depends on what you are going to use it for. I had it linked with my cell phone and was no convenient at all. The text that it sends to your phone when you get a voicemail write out what the message says and 99% of the words are incorrect.

One cool thing was the fact that you could check your voicemails online and listen to them.

I'd say give it a try and see how it works for you.

i absolutely love the droid. dont know about google voice though, as i said...havent tinkered with it much.
