Hey ALL!!
I know having your car stolen sucks.. as mine has been before!
I actually stated using GPS systems to locate my car!
there are hundreds of cheap GPS (lowjack style) systems out there for under 200.00.. Since most people invest 100's of 1000's of dollars on engine swaps, turbos, stereos.. why not integrate a gps in your car.. and track that beeyatch wherever it goes!
and ive heard insurance goes down!
:) just FYI
Keep ATL safer!

there are hundreds of these types.. some actually require a subscription similar to ADT or something, but some just are plug and play.. i think its well worth the money and .. you can HIDE them in spots where half the people will never find them, plus have back up batteries, so if the main battery is removed, they will hold power for a few hours!!

It's not about how much money is invested in your car, its the fact.. you can NOT trust anyone these days. I've heard people trying to steal license plate frames.. It's about keeping what is yours, YOURS!!
i mean a 200-300 INVESTMENT on a GPS is a worthy investment. I bet you more than half of the people reading this message , probably have rims, In-Dash of some sort, subs, HID's blah that cost more than 200-300!!!

yeah but some set their alam a little too sensitive wazzy like the cat waking your neighbors up every morning when he jumps on it. lol. but security is well worth the money. theres a guy on cl that they stole his 2 number matching early 70's restored cutlass convertibles and been looking for months for them. even offered a no question asked $25k reward for them

whats the annual fee on that though?

That all depends on what kind of system you get installed! Some may just charge an activation fee and then the software does the rest... Some charge a montly subscription and some free and some yearly..
this one has different plans
http://www.zoombak.com/products/auto/
(click on service plans tab)
or you can do it the cheap way
http://www.nextel.com/en/services/gps/mobile_locator.shtml
get a crappy nextel, and hot wire it in the car so it stays on all the time
(the battery never dies this way) and have the 15 dollar a mnt plan: locator installed on it... that way, you can view it from your cell phone to find the location
or goto a car audio store like sonicelectronix.com or other dealers
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i440_gps-tracking.html
so tons of CHEAPER options! well worth it, so your car will always be found!
OH YEA::: ANOTHER TIP:::
if you do get one of these installed... pay a few bucks more and find the SMALLEST motorcycle or scooter battery (maybe a slim battery and hook it up from the main battery + plus hide this battery and ( hiding the wiring is the best way; they wont know its there) and put this device in a VERY awkward location.. some place where it will be hard to find.... the reasons behind this:
the TOP 10 reasons:
1) the robbers will not be able to find it and break it
2) robbers will not even know its installed
3) if someone steals the car, chances are they cut or remove the battery; killing the power to the car
4) if the back up battery is hidden, it will store power for a while ( and can be hooked to the alarm) and it will be found
5) a good back up to jumpstart a car
6) good source of back up amp power (if installed with a farad)
7) piece of mind! you can sleep at night, knowing your car is fort knox!
8) you have the right to whoop someones ass with a 6 pack of whoop ass
9) you may help someone else track their cars, if your car ends up in the same location as many other stolen cars
10) your smarter than dumbasses!
feel free to add more!
