my screw that held my rotor button in place came out and jammed in the i guess a cam of some sort in my distrubutor well any ways, it shut my car off, well when it did, i shot out a 30 foot cloud of black smoke (unburnt fuel). the car did a major back fire, well the next day i cranked my car and i heard a bad noise, well i didnt think much of it, and took off for the day. well on the way home the noise got loud and when i went to wendys to get some dinner i was in the drive threw next to the wall and i heard a exchaust leak, the next day when i hade day light i got my car on some ramps and look to see where the noise was coming from hoping that it was just maybe and excaust pipe cam lose at the flange, well no i have a crack right at the welds where my converter is at, now my question is.... could the loud back fire maybe have cause this and it was just so much pressure that it took a weak weld spot out in my exchaust or.... is this maybe due to the weather changing. i just hade the emissions dont and i pass threw out the hole test amazingly. so prier issues was not the answer. please help me figure out this issue.

p.s this is a stock exchaust

lots of things could cause it to crack. just get it welded up or jb weld it.

get it weld dont even think about jb weld. make sure where ever it gets welded at they terminate both ends of the crack or else it will just keep coming back.

yea the whole jb weld idea is not somthing i am going to try to pull off that seems to be the answer for people that are broke and just plane not giving a damn about there car. thats not me i eather going to do it right the first time or not even do it at all. i thinking of just geting a whole new aftermarket exchaust, the only thing stoping me is that if you have a stock engine that is not built for all motor meaning lots of head work and good cams etc. or turbo then the best exchaust for a FOUR CYLENDER ENGINE is the stock one that it cam with. i mean 6 and 8 cylender engines are completly different, but i am planning on turboing the car just not at this point lol like i said if i am not going to do it right the first time i am not going to do it at all!

Not true. Just becuase it has 4 cylinders doent mean it won't show gains over stock.

i have seen gains on s2000's but i mean this excaust leak that i have i can tell the torque difference i mean puting a larger excaust could resualt in the same thing as a exchaust i am not to sure. but yea i see what your coming from but maybe the vtec 4 cylenders see the differences but mine being a ls doesnt have a good flowing head like the vtec head deos beacause of the actual vtec that i dont have.
