Soo.. I have talked about this for awhile and here it goes... I want to make a calender for IA.. "The Woman of IA".. What I need from all of you is to nominate who you wanna see in the calender (It will be the girl and her car)... Once I get all the nominations (which can be public or sent to me in PM) I will put up a poll for the top 18 girls...Once We pick the top 18 (yes 18 month calnder)...We will take the girls and do a photoshoot with them and their cars...and hopefully by January we will have ot the calender.. So come on IA...

I personally ( not to fuck up your plan) loved the origonal idea of taking pictures of everyone car that wanted them to be entered then having a voteing poll as to what pictures would then be displayed on each of the 18 months.

it would also be cool to put dates on the calander for KNOWN events that people would generally like to attend HIN,NOPI etc.. just my 2pennies.

I kinda agree with you here although...even though some of us might favor performace over looks, there are a lot of people on IA that are into show cars. I like the idea but I don't think the girls chosen should pic the cars. I think we should vote on both the girls and the cars, that way we can get a little of both show and go cars in there. As far as which month the girl goes on I really don't care, they can pick that if they like. Also if we end up with too many cars nominated, then maybe we could double up and have 2 or 3 cars in a picture for each month. just my :2cents:

Thanks for the support.. I have emailed all the girls who have been nominated (either in the thread or PM'd to me or IM's to me..) So once I get a yes or no from them.. I shall put up a poll.. Im giving everyone a week to vote.. and after that I will contact all the car owners to make sure I have the ok from them.. then we will begin shooting.. I have thought of also sending 1/2 of the proceeds of this to charity and 1/2 to IA.. whats everyones thoughts?

A lot of other car forums have calendars not just the supra forums. Dsmtuners for example puts one out every year by having member sumbit pics of their cars through a pic only thread. after the deadline admins/mods/wismen vote on which pics they like best.....I think this is a great way to do it for a car only calendar, unless your trying to get the girls in, in which case a photoshoot with all the cars/girls would probably be best.

Well I had thought of a best if IA calender...Where the entire site would nominate cars... Then the top 20 cars get voted on and then the top 12 go into the calender... but this way with the girls we can show off more than just one car a month.. with the girls we are able to display 2-3 cars (depending on what the girl chooses). The fact remains that it seems really fake, and deceiving that you'd post the girls in front of a guy's car. Promote the website, but do it accordingly. If you want to display the girls that are in the 'scene', do it. Just remove the fakeness of it all. If you want it to seem like the girls on here know what they're doing, and that they have fast cars, then go ahead and have them pose in front of a guy's car.

Everyone knows that the car scene has always been predominantly a guy's field. If you open a calendar and see girls posing in front of heavily modified cars, you will assume it's a girl's car. Which is nothing but a huge facade. Which brings me to disapprove of it.

If it were girls posing in front of their actual cars, then it'd be all good, and I'd be all for it.

Correct, but they're also there to sell caledars and bring in revenue. If you're putting out a calendar to promote IA, and calling it the 'girls of IA', then it may lead some to believe otherwise.

personally, if i chose to do the calendar thing, i'd be willing to pose on my own car, but i don't think anybody wants to see a stock g6. i have a stock family car because i have 2 kids...i'd rather have a vehicle that my kids can fit & ride in comfortably. i am on ia because i've been on here for 5 years & i used to have slightly modded vehicles, but responsibilities take presedence over my car.

this girl wants to do a calendar to promote the website...if that includes the cars of ia with girls of ia, so be it. if it includes the cars of ia, then so be it. but like somebody said before, if you see a girl on a car in a calendar & you automatically assume that the car belongs to that girl (even when there's a caption stating the girl's name & the owner of the car), then you've been midled for a long time because calendars with girls on cars that aren't theirs have existed for a long time!
