Snowboarding season...

It looks like snowboarding season is open. I'm heading to Gatlinburg in 2 weeks for a cabin trip. I've been dying to break in my new board and gear. Has anybody been yet this year? Cataloochee/Maggie Valley or Sugar Mountain?

Dude, I'm freaking jealous. I was just checking the base cam on their website. It's a live feed and there are a bunch of people out there today.

I checked the other day and Cataloochee is closed, due to rain. Me and some friends go to Gatlingburg once every year, however, they are always packed. That and people are always sitting in the middle of the way.

if you every get a chance go further north, at least west virginia. I've been to sugar mountain, honestly it doesnt compare to my trip to vermont, and this year goin to montreal to snowboard.

I'm heading to Wyoming on Monday for work and might end up going boarding. If not, I'll definitely go when I get back home. I live a little over an hour from Cataloochee. If anyone want to meet up sometime between the 19th and the 27th, we'll hit the slopes.:cheers:

tis the season!! Pretty stoked, got out on the mountain for the first time this season!! me and some friends went up to Boone and hit up Apalachain Ski on Sat. it was all fake snow but any snow is better than no snow.

Just got back from Gatlinburg on Sunday. It was awesome. Went boarding on Friday night in 8-10 inches of fresh powder.

I can ski but have never tried snowboarding but I will in January hopefully I don't break anything lol.

I went up to sugar a week ago, They had just gotten a foot of snow. It was great, but they were still blowing which sucks to go through.

Forgot to mention I went up to Cataloochee on Sunday and it was pretty awesome. Only 2 hours and 20 minutes from my girlfriends house in Flowery Branch.
