The SHO must go on. SHO me the money. It's SHO time!

We've heard them all during the months of speculation leading up to this moment. Without further ado, we present to you the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO. That's right, Ford has decided to revive the moniker once affixed to the sports sedan that wowed the automotive world way back in 1989. The original SHO survived three generations of Taurus models, was sold for 10 years straight and attracted over 100,000 buyers. But just as the Taurus itself devolved from America's best-selling car to a rental fleet afterthought, the original SHO ended production in 1999 having gone from a budget sports sedan to an overpriced, underpowered executive whip.

Ford is working on rehabilitating the Taurus name with a significant redesign (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/11/detroit-2009-ford-reveals-2010-taurus-party-like-its-1986/) that debuted last month at the Detroit Auto Show (http://www.autoblog.com/category/Detroit-Auto-Show/). Using that sedan as its canvas, the new SHO may also restore respect to a name that has fallen too far. A 365-hp twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, all-wheel-drive and plenty of upgrades is a good place to start. Follow the jump to learn everything there is to know about the return of the SHO.

engine bay is a disappointment. For its selling point to be a "V6 Twin Turbo", it looks really bland.

Haa, yeah and when you take all those plastic covers off the engine and start pulling the car apart to do some upgrades, thats when you'll probably see the V6 and two little demon turbochargers staring at you like :taun:

Thats one of my biggest problems with new cars. They just shove a big piece of dressed up plastic ontop of everything; and when you go to look at whats underneith, its all ugly, cause they're is no need to dress it up anymore since its covered. No more pretty factory valve covers and the such.

edit - back on topic, the new SHO looks awesome. I owned a 93 taurus lx when I was teen. Biggest pile ever, but for some reason, i'll always have a soft spot for the taurus, and i've always wanted a SHO.

i'd rock it. and yea that engine bay isn't much to look at but its clean for stock, i mean chances are most will go ahead and start converting from twin to single, so who cares what a stock engine bay looks like, it won't look like that for long...

I like the 89-91 SHO. The new one is nice but it weighs like 4400lbs.

yeah but look at all the high end cars with the same shit. Audi, mercedes, BMW(especially) and alot of the vws have that same "bland look".

Thats my point, even uncovered they look like shit now, cause there is no need for car manufacturers to design an appealing engine bay, when they can just shove a plastic cover over it with their logo on it, which most people think thats part of the engine anyways.

Well if you compare it to the old SHO's engine bay...it certainly seems like a disappointment. :dunno:

lol at people complaining about the engine dress up... It's not about the looks under the hood, it's all about the performance of the car..

Car is nice. I would own one

one came into my work the other day driven by some 70yr old lady (figures). when she left you could tell something was under the hood, but sounded more like a supercharger..

No, but even if they did like bmw and nissan (off the top of my head) are doing and put an emblem, or just color matched the letters on the vanity cover, it would look alot better.

lol, I can't decide if that is sarcasm, seeing as how you had a hatch with EVERYTHING tucked in the bay. Not saying anything is wrong with that though.

What the hell are they thinking selling these cluster fucks?
