This has been an exciting year for the staff of JJSPEC Racing. This year we had 2 emplyees join the 10 second club and we took one of the underdog engines Honda makes and put it into the wrong chassis and made it run low 11's.
Jonathan "vtecace23" ran 11.20 @ 122 at the beginning of the year. That wasnt enough so he put a better engine in his 2000 Civic Hatchback and ran a 10.87 @ 126 on pump gas with a ratchet strap holding the engine down since the factory mount couldnt handle the mad torque.
Justin "QWK D16" has a 96 Civic Coupe that put down in the neighborhood of 300 whp and posted up a best et 13.7 @ 108 using street tires. This is the same setup that the car has had for the last 5 years.
Josh the "Evil Goat" piloted his 3650 lb LS1 GTO to a best of 10.98 @ 126 using a 150 shot wet kit spraying into a stock block.
Joey "DarkStar" ran a personal best 12.8 @ 99 after having some issue before the 1/8th mile.
Jimmy Jones "jjmastertech" took a bunch of stuff that was sitting idle around the shop and turned it into a strret/track warrior. We took a 94 Acura Integra GSR shell, a single cam D16Z6, used pistons and rods, and some other things. I bought a used turbo, an intercooler piping kit because I didnt have a kit for a GSR, and a Competition Clutch stage 5 kit. Altogether I put about $1000 in the whole car. We took it to the track and first time out we ran a best of 12.85 that day. We finally ran a 11.14 @ 130.77 at the end of the season.
Next year should be interesting as we all have plans for over the winter.
We will try to post up some pics later on from the last year.
