No the Finale is this weekend I suppose and Kimbo got beat by Big Country (which was bs on how he won). Dana White usually lets about 4 fighters that have UFC potential (thats in the UFC season=tv. show) fight in the UFC finale in the octagon (the one that's on tv. in front of fans even the one's that lost I guess). Im supposing he's giving Kimbo this chance on fighting Alexander to find out if he gets a contract or not to the UFC. If he wins he's in, if he loses no contract I suppose for now... but doesnt mean he wont later if he trains right for it.

Alexander > Slice
altough, I would love to see kimbo win and make it in the UFC. I just don't see a win coming from him against Alexander. But I hope he surprises me and does it.

I have to give it to Houston as well. Unless Kimbo gets his knee right, he wont be much on the ground. Granted it should be a great standing fight if it goes that direction, but on the floor, Houston will have it.
The fight I want to see is Jones vs. Mitrione, because Mitrione is going to get his ass WHOOP!

kimbo's going to be in the ufc even if he wins or lose. dana white is to smart to let a guy like slice not join the ufc. he's a magnet to people viewing the ufc :camera:

Not true. Got to actually be good, and with Kimbo's knee problem thats a gamble. Whats not to say that they give him a contract then he does into a fight with someone whos skilled at kicking. One good kick to the side of the knee and hes done.

Nah UFC brings in enough money as it is. Now if he's good sure he will be.
Im going for Kimbo so he can make UFC and get some real good training in to be a top heavyweight contender.

I wanna see Kimbo win, just b/c when Kimbo and I fought I beat him pretty bad and still feel sorry for him. I think Kimbo found fame 5 - 6 years too late though. But man he is conditioned these days in comparison to his street days. I think the work-outs I emailed him are working.

That was a pathetic fight on Houstons side. He was scared the whole time. Try to stay back and work the knee. I figured Houston to win, but DAM Kimbo came out for blood. He landed some serious hits, and missed some even bigger. Then that suplex where Houston landed on his head, I was for sure that was the end.

but he has no stamina, and you have to have that when it comes to being a striker unless you can knock them out or badly hurt them in the first round

yes. he had a good rear naked choke and gave up on it to hit him some more. but he did give hella better ground game. got a full mount not once but twice. man so exciting to watch man. his arms look like loaded guns. i cant wait for him to lay one guy out ..... like big country did pretty much lol.

Interesting night of fights.
- Kimbo looked better than I expected. For the people saying look at his ground game, well his opponent isn't the most proficient on the ground, so that kind of made his ground game look better than it is.
- Don't get what was up with Houston in that first round and pretty much the rest of the fight, he seemed really scared to engage the entire time.
- The Bones DQ was stupid. 12-6 elbows aren't any more dangerous than other types of elbows, that rule is stupid imo.
- Roy Nelson is hilarious, and I'm glad he won. Came out to "Fat" by Weird Al, which was funny as shit.
- Sad Marcus lost, but he really needs to work on his striking.

Houston had a good game plan, take away kimbos legs. Houston just did not have the stamina to stay away from the clinch and the strikes which gave Kimbo the the opportunity to wear him down and score points. Kimbo still has a long way to go, but he is atleast making strides on becoming a decent fighter
I was happy it was a DQ, rules are rules and you should not be allowed to win by breaking them. Bones had the fight, but slipped up and cost him the fight b/c of his mental error which is no different than leaving your hands down and getting caught by a right hook

i agree with you that the ufc brings in enough money, but the fact that kimbo being on the show gave them 15.5 million views (not sure if thats the correct amount) which dana white confirmed on one of his video interviews. :goodjob:

His stamina looks worlds better now then when he was fighting in that other organization. I saw a fight where he completly collapsed after the fight and couldnt stand up. It's still no where near where it needs to be, but he's improved drastically over the year.
And that Jones fight was a fucking joke. Rather those elbows are what finished it or not, the guy was layin there for two minutes getting elbowed, and he would've been there the rest of the round getting elbowed. At least Jones was real cool about it, seems like a very down to earth guy.

No way. UFC is the best game in town. They aren't going anywhere. If they do, they won't get near the exposure they do in the UFC.

That's true. UFC promotion is better than others, however strikeforce might be stepping up their promotion since that new EA MMA game is coming out.

They got money, that's for sure. But UFC is already so well established, it is going to be really hard to make a dent in what they have going on. The fighters know this and they know that UFC can give them much more exposure than Strikeforce can.

Lol they have nowhere near the exposure UFC has man, comon. Strikeforce is coming up, but they don't have the pull that the UFC has. Big name fighters know this. UFC is established, been around a long time when others have gone bankrupt and crashed. That's why fighters can take the smaller payouts because they know they will get them.

Quoted For Truth Strikeforce has money but they don't have fertitta money. They are trying to beef up by signing henderson but ufc will be on top forever
