but for real, i thought that it was just a 2.3 version of the h22, but there is a book at autozone that you can go in and read, it's called "Honda Swaps" and according to them it's a totally different motor, and that some of the parts from the h22 do not fit it, how much truth there is to that, i dont know, believe it cause they seem pretty credible, last time i checked they were going for a bit less than the h22, jhotimports when they were in Augusta had a couple of them, i love that blue valve cover though.

if i were you i would just go with the jdm h22 and the lsd tranny

What you need to know? I had one in my hatch and its a beast.

Same head and block castings as the h22 were used....it has a longer stroke and flat top pistons(as opposed to the "dome" of the h22a) thats where it gets that extra .1 of a liter. Its a great motor, just don't rev the piss outta it b/c its powerband and bottom end were designed for the auto AWD tranny. If you decide you want 8k rpms all day, then stick with the h22a:goodjob:

Pretty much all the specs have been stated and yes, google is your bestest friend!!!

They are a little more expensive due to the fact that there aren't near as many of these as there is the h22a.

I picked mine up for 1400 cash(normally 15-1600) with a business tax ID from Matt Harrel at Japanese Engine Importers in Doraville. Great place to get a motor from!

na the swap is almost complete im waiting on a pulley from honda they had to order then everything is goin in... everything is new new seals all around clutch kit. im selling the old motor for 500 it will crank and run no knocking or anything just the end of the crank is sheered bad.. all they had to swap was the oil pump the housing around that sumthin about the oil pan they had to swap im not sure wat it was intake plenum headers an thats it it dont have an egr valve and the oil pump housing an pump was swapped to add the crank angle sensor but i should have it monday night so i will let everyone kno how it runs? if it has any more than the h22a it will be a beast in the prelude

LMK if you need sensors or plugs...i have a whole h23vtec engine harness in my garage..

did you switch everything out to OBD1?

jbdover08
12-07-2009, 12:04 AM
nope they used everything off my old h22a motor to put on the old one so it will still be obd2

get it tuned before you do anything...

second gear is a beast and 4th on the hwy dessimates:D

dont rev past 7500....

jbdover08
12-07-2009, 12:35 AM
well itll have to be summer before i get it tuned cuz money an work is slow but im not gonna be racing or reving it high anyways because i need a reliable car and dont have the money to pay if something breaks because of racing

D3UC3S
12-07-2009, 12:37 AM
