I'm sad to see it go. There are rumors floating around of Fiat's plans but idk.

I'm sad to see it go. There are rumors floating around of Fiat's plans but idk.

Piston heads.

Dodge has quashed rumours that the union of Fiat and Chrysler might bring anything in the way of meaningful collaboration between Ferrari and Viper, but not before fanning the flames of speculation for a while.

In a statement issued on Tuesday after the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR set a new lap record at Laguna Seca, Dodge brand chief Ralph Gilles said: "When we have partners across the ocean who are known as the best sports-car makers in the world, the future opportunities are huge."

But before you start to get wound up about the fascinating prospect of a Ferrari V8 or V12 motor in a Viper, or the horrific prospect of a Viper V10 in a Ferrari, it seems that Dodge is after information, not platform sharing.

Gilles revealed as much when US magazine Auto Week got in touch with him. "They really know sports cars. We just want some advice," said Gilles. "Ferrari is Ferrari, Viper is Viper. Please don't go there."

So there you have it - Viper will remain a deep-pan meat feast, while Ferrari will continue to be a thin-crust quattro formaggio, but Viper's oh-so American products might just get a spot of secret Italian seasoning.

I have no problem in Fiat's engineering development to help the Viper improve but it still needs to be a Viper.

Whatever they do, For Gods sake keep that 8.4L V10! Throw it in a ferrari = Rocket ship. But seriously tho, that engine has sooo much potential with turbos >.>.

:slap:

We are all about opinions here but that one is just really stupid.

Did you happen to read what Dodge brand chief said?

But seriously tho, that engine has sooo much potential with turbos >.>

It has too much power without turbos.

Straight line thinking has taken over IA again i see.

I love these.

I also love the old Oreca car still looking dirty.

P&M cleaning the C6Rs in the final hour ruins it.

not feeling the elongated rear glass window... but that car is beautiful.. as always, vipers ftmfgdw.

or maybe it's the wing deceiving me, making me think it's longer than the previous.

You're right. I can't stand clean race cars, I'm always excited when I see endurance races with cars naturally dirty from the race.

Panoz's GTLM GT2 proves it works.

The wing is closer to the glass.

I'm glad you wrote this because it is true.

The Saleen S7 was fully designed and engineered by the British firm Mallock. Or as it is better known RML.

That is why all the initial tests of the S7 were at British race circuits. The S7 race cars were built initially by Mallock before moving to French Oreca.

Also, i recommend everyone check Speedhunters as coincidentally, an article about the 2000 Rolex 24 appeared.

I'd love to drive one of these just once. Apparently, insane a car as it is, it's quite easy to drive and very forgiving.

The new ACR treatment is menacing. I like that offset stripe.
