View Full Version : integra/check engine light question

Well I was on the freeway last night on my way to moreland and wen I hit 75-80 mph my check engine light came on and started blinking so I slowed down and wen my speed dropped the light went off. The same thing happened twice. Anybody had somethin similar happen or the same thing happened to??

when the check engine light blinks it usually means the engine is misfiring. anything else happen? was the car shuddering/stuttering? did the CEL stay on after (you could pull the code and get more info)?

check the coil, plugs, wires, etc to make sure everything looks good. someone who knows more about cars than me will drop in soon with some more suggestions :D

No the cel light turned off after I slowed down a little bit. And no that was about all that happened.but my cel light has came on b4 and wen I checked it it said that one of my cylinders was misfirin but that was only bcuz 1 of my spark plug wires had came loose from the dizzy

well i guess when you're getting on it, something is causing the motor to misfire. do you have an OEM ignition (no msd external coil, etc)? when's the last time you changed your plugs and wires?

like i said i'm no expert but this is the stuff to check out in this situation...start with the easy stuff and work backwards till you figure it out :goodjob:

Yea I believe the ignition is oem. And the last time was like in september, I was gonna do a oil change and change wires and plugs this weekend
