looking to upgrade. i have a very nice head unit and wiring; amp is a mtx thunder elite series. been running some mediocre mtx components and i want something better. im only concerned about the front stage since i have no backseats, so i have the option of bridging the amp and the fronts will be getting 200rms each. i dont have much experience with the higher end stuff, so im looking to the experts for some advice.

price range is around 4xx btw. forgot to mention that. also, anyone ever use those speaker baffles? i have never used them, they always seemed like a waste. looking at these right now. looks like crossovers for the tweeters and 6.5 so i would use all 4 channels on the amp.

I would suggest the Hybrid Clarus line, or maybe the Arc audio Arc series stuff. The hertz stuff is really good (I won a SQ World Championship with the Mille stuff) but you really need to do some sound deadening to get their full potential. Of course I would suggest yoiu do that anyway regardless of what speakers you choose.

before you upgrade components, you might want to invent in some sound deadening.

not a fan of the rattle trap? seemed to work pretty good. i put some dynamat on the trunk lid and back by the tail lights and it did alright. the rattle trap was thicker and made more of a difference

I prefer the Hybrid Audio Clarus also. They are a touch over $500 for the set for a 6.5" and right at $500 for the 5.25 set. I am running 250 watts to each side in my Miata.
