know this for a fact that the lsvtec engine needs to have a vtec oil pump, or an obd2 b18/b20 oil pump. Also, i know that the dealership is usually the best place to get said parts, but has anyone tried out Napa oil pumps?

I think im going to get one, and just to verify that the differences between obd0 and obd2 pumps are different within the napa system in the same the way they are from Honda, is that the part numbers are different.
So, would this get a http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:honda-tech.com/get//images/smilies/emthup.gif or a http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:honda-tech.com/get//images/smilies/emthdown.gif?

I do see part number differences for Napa oil pumps, but i just wanted to see if anyone else ever used them, and how things went..

part numbers for oem Honda:

1990 ls oilpump : 15100-PR4-A03
1999 gs-r oilpump : 15100-P72-A01

part numbers for Napa Auto:

1990 ls oilpump : SEP 22441997
1999 gs-r oilpump : SEP 22443587

highlighted differences in Bold

yeah just go in there act cool and tell them you work at autozone down the street. they usually just punch it in as a general wholesale account because there are soo many autozones. also honda-tech members carry a discount also i think. its just not as good as wholesale.

Correct, but when you call acura dealer they tend to jack up the price due to its a Acura more high end then a honda.
call honda and the same part numbers are differ price at acura

and list is the price they always say at first, then you say he what is my cost
