He went from a Civic wagon to this. He drove pretty far across Canada to get it. If I remember correctly I believe his family had one when he was a kid or something so he had to have one. lol

Yep, they did import them to Canada for some reason.

Has his like 40hp?

One thing about Russian cars is after you forget what shit they are, you realize they have character.

Not a street car and (built by the French) but no matter. It's still a Lada Samara.

Won RallyPharaohs and Dakar stage in first attempt.

My brother's currently in Kyrgyzstan and he said that he saw a movie where a guy was going to spend his life's savings on a car and was making fun of all of the crappy Russian cars and that he was going to buy a good car. Then he didn't have enough money to afford anything except a Moskvich, and went on and on about how great it was to get a true Soviet car, one that was built by good Soviet people.
Needless to say, Moskvichs are everywhere and that's what I've asked for from him for Christmas. Also, the Botswana episode of Top Gear makes me want an Opel Cadet "Oliver" rebadge of the Moskvich.

I respect how much information you've stored away in your head EJ25, I read a lot about all sorts of junk and thought I knew a great bit about cars, but you constantly impress me with your auto drudging.

My dad's Moskvich looked like this. Except it wasn't a rally car.

Its true that there are very few real Russian cars as even the Lada Riva was a Fiat 124.

It was great. I let my family members see it and they were able to recall the actual # names of the cars. I originally didn't think Jeremy's bit about the Zapo's version's for handicapped people was true but my uncle instantly said it was as soon as he saw the car.

I love it. Roachy cars always make me smile. Reps when I can give em.

When I was in Russia right after the breakup, they were selling 6 wheeled armored vehicles on the dock for like $500 bucks. Soviet subs half sank in the harbor. It was crazy. Still have a full size Russian Naval Ensign that a guy traded me for a Zippo lighter. He was a Signalman on the Kiev Cruiser we pulled up next too and he ganked it from the boat and came out and traded me. Full size flag, red with the big white Hammer and Sickle sewn on it. I used it as a seat cover in my M30.
