Its a easy fix, the pan prob. doesn't have a drain in it but all you do is loosen all the bolts slightly all the way around the pan. Let what fluid is going to drain from that drain, then loosen them alittle more, and then alittle more. This will get the pan so its not completely full when you take it down. Take the pan off, clean the gasket off, clean the pan out. There will be a magnet in the pan so clean all the metal off it too.. At this point you need to replace not only the gasket but the filter too. To replace the filter you just pull it off making sure the o-ring comes off with it (I don't believe there is any bolts holding it on just a o-ring). put the new filter and new o-ring on just as the old filter came off. Replace the pan and gasket making sure the pan is tightened down evenly. replace fluid, and check for leaks... Leak is fixed and tranny is serviced too...

QFT and I beleive on the older trans the tq spec is 98-100 inlbs, or 12ftlbs, cant remember which. I am former chevy tech.

Go to summit and pick up a pan with a drain plug in it. They are not that expensive and you will thank me for the suggestion later if you go to service it again!

troof, just don't get a pan from GM. The plugs hardly ever come out, and most of the time the bolt head rounds off.

ehhhh...wish I could help on that one. It doesn't look to be lifted that high. Just tell her would she rather you, "get ran over by a truck in my little car" or "would you feel better, with me driving a nice truck that's off the ground and don't have to worry about getting crushed in it."

or you can go to any auto parts store and buy the B&M tranny plug kit and install it.. Very Very easy to do... But yea a great suggestion.

http://i47.tinypic.com/2rw2ff4.jpgIf that is indeed where the leak is coming from, there is nothing to it. With that being as old as it is, you have to make sure the pan isn't bent around the bolt holes. Take a ball peen hammer and dimple the holes outward slightly. Also, don't buy a gasket or filter kit from an auto parts store. The gaskets included with those kits are junk, and always leak. You can order a good duraprene gasket from www.transtarindustries.com , or www.wittrans.com. Again, you won't find a good gasket at any parts store. There are two flat head screws that holds the filter onto the valvebody, so that is pretty straight forward. Be sure to put a new gasket with the filter before you install it, which should come with the filter kit. I don't normally sell transmission parts, but I do keep these filter kits on hand if you have trouble getting one in an ample amount of time.

i would just feel dumb not trading the paintjob on it cost almost as much as my car lol even though you cant tell it glitters and shines lol. Also only 27,000 miles on crate 350.
