Georgia Emissions: How many unready codes allowed?

I have no CEL but I have aftermarket software which turns off some sensors so that the CEL won't come on. Anyone know how many sensors are allowed to be unready?

I think they ALL have to be ready, but what kind of chassis are you getting tested?? the chassis (year of the car) determines how they test it as it could be obd1, obd0, or obd2.

My car has an obd1 system setup, but they still test it like its running obd0 due to the age of my chassis.

depends on obd obd0,1. doesnt matter u can a million codes as long as your motor is running good enough o2 sensor is working. obd2 1 code is a fail no matter the problem is.

most 96-98 can have two incomplete and 99+ can only have 1 monitor incomplete (just took a 99 w. 1 incomplete sys, it passed )

Yeah, last year I failed because my rear 02s were disabled with the tuner software. On the FORD OBDII this causes two readiness states to fail. I cant remember which ones, but one has to do with 02 readiness, and something else.

if it has more then 3 codes it will not pass i am a emissions inspector i do it all day everyday!

also it depends on if they are readyness codes all that is, is that your on board computer is not set right now, but i will tell you hondata, aem, greddy, etc if on the car it will never ever pass a georgia emissions because we inspect all cars in there stock running form, we are trying to provent what you have. and also it is against the law to tamper with any emission related idems on the car or what ever it is! but i am a big car fan to its just a job i do but i dont agree with it at all hell i got hondata s300 lol!

So, what you are saying is that you will fail people with aftermarket ems, but you run Hondata S300? How do you get away with it?

Correct mr if I'm wrong but That's because obd1 n obd0 cars don't get inspected like obd2 cars. Obd1 and 0 cars are ran on the dyno while obd2 cars are just hooked up to the computer and tested for any codes. This is why you can not use greddy ems etc.

yes marco713 thats true and you do have a 50/50 chance of passing but if you have bigger injectors you might as well for get about it. obd2's have a thing called a obd connector and the on board computer can tell the g.a.s also know as "georgia clean air force" the color of your interior in your car! theres to much to list on a obd2car, as for a obdo or obd1 or the real name is asm test for odbo and obd1 cars all that is is a prob and a dyno and a contact to your ignition system so really the car gets to do the test as compared to a obd2 car the on board computer doesnt care if the car is running clean and running fine the computer still does the test.

what didnt i catch he is right its a hole different ball park main line is a odb2 car is made to be more stricktor on the emission thats why odb2 cars have more sensors then obdo and odb1 cars.

ive actually seen an ls swapped EF go into the emissions place and fail on NOX. went beside the building and unplugged the #1 injector and drove back onto the dyno and passed. lol

there are different things that you can do to different cars. GM can do one way, ford another, clean piping, clean plugging, its a different method for different problems. that shit in the can....it dont work! honestly!

what i find funny is when someone fails for the gas cap! they are speechless and confused at the same time ha ha!

ive been offered all kinds of things to get a car to pass and realistically, the "tester" has no control over whether it passes or fails, its all the car. you have to input engine size, thats how some get screwed. and you have to be honest or else they come lock your ass up! and they dont play! send covert ppl through atleast once a month and can sit in the woods with a telescope if they want to just to sit and watch you preform a test! its honestly more a headache to do them than the general public realizes!

96-2000 can have up to 2 not ready the rest has to be ready doesnt matter which order either

2001 - newer went to a strick laws, and they can only have 1 not ready also it does not matter which order

Why 55 FTL?

They reset at speeds under 60 mph anything faster will not reset, also some has to sit over night before the evap will set

yea dude i feel you on that i get offerd money, sex, etc and the gas cap is funny i get alot of that to, and its also funny when you got to explain to a customer that you cant test there car beacuse they have got a blown cigerette lighter fues lol!

lol yea its funny when the fail a gas cap test, also when you cant test there car because they have a blown cigerette fuse and the customer gets mad and says you are scaming them! lol!
