Is there any possible way to tell if a xbox is modded without connecting to live? have never played on a modded version and want to buy a new elite but the seller said he did not have live so he couldn't prove that it was banned....:???:

if its modded its either banned or will be probably since microsoft can detect modded xbox's now. You could test if its modded by putting a burned game in. Thats the only way really.

open up the front, see if the factory seal is intact. if its not dont buy it

dont rely on that.
Just find one that can be put on live to prove its not banned. Xbox 360's are always for sale, there is a bunch of them.
