Just rev-match every shift and your tranny wont blow up and your clutch will be happy too. There are just as many 300whp cars running the stock box as kids who blow up it with less than 220whp. It is all in how you drive it.

Big Baller

No its really not all in how you drive it, the stock 5 speed is really week. There are really very few 300-350 hp wrx's. We blew up 2nd gear from a roll, thats how strong the stock 5 speed is.

Very few 300-350HP WRXs? Are you kidding?

Name 10 2.0 liter WRX's in Atlanta that make 350hp. Then name the ones on the stock motor and tranny.

umm, me (though I've got a JDM STI tranny), Milo, Drew (wrecked his car), Kris, really I could go on with people with aftermarket turbos. Even Mike with his STI shortblock-swapped WRX is still on the stock 5speed (and clutch).

Any of the IHI turbos will get you to 350 flywheel HP without any problems.

umm, me (though I've got a JDM STI tranny),.

Really you made 350hp and you drive it like that all the time I had no idea, oh wait you dont have a stock 5 speed.

]Milo,.

I didnt know Milo made 350hp on pump gas

Drew
I wasnt aware that drew made 350hp on pump gas either

Kris, . I dont know Kris

really I could go on with people with aftermarket turbos. So now everyone with an aftermarket turbo makes 350hp. I had no idea

Even Mike with his STI shortblock-swapped WRX is still on the stock 5speed (and clutch).

If your talking about Gonzo, then he had an RA gearset.

Any of the IHI turbos will get you to 350 flywheel HP without any problems.

Who is talking about flywheel horsepower, no one ever compares flywheel horsepower. Were talking Wheel Horsepower.

So once again I pose the question to you, Can you name 10 people in the state that are making 350hp to the wheels in a stock 2.0 wrx, with a stock tranny that hasnt broken?

Let me answer it for you. No. You can not.

"There are really very few 300-350 hp wrx's."

^That was your statement, and that statement is untrue.

ok, how bout Kreeger who's running a JDM ver7 STI motor on his stock 2.5TS tranny? He put down over 300whp on I think 9psi of boost at Top5speed with a weaker transmission than the WRX gets. He's also been running that setup for a year and a half I believe.

You never specified whp. In that case there arent as many around Atlanta but plenty enough elsewhere in the country. Do you just love to argue about everything? The gearbox can hold up if you treat it correctly.

Come out and actually meet some of the local Subaru guys and you'll find out how many people are running larger turbos and holding up fine on the stock gearbox.

no one compares flywheel horsepower, and you know that.

Yeah you can treat the subaru gearbox right and it will last(if by treating it right you mean driving like a grandma)

Your argument is weak.
