Thats sucks my dad had to lay me off a couple weeks ago. I didnt have taxes tooken out so no unemployment for me. I got a part time gig at staples.

i have a associate in civil engineering technology, and i have 5 years experience in working w/ 2D design w/ AutoCAD, i saw one ad of a Geodetic Technician, basically testing soils to make sure all is well at the site..so i applied since i wouldnt be stuck on the inside all day long:D...

All that aside, you have to make ends meet and IL isnt a poor state. I would mention OH, but I dont think this place is stable enough. IL (ESPECIALLY CHICAGOLAND) is very diversified and stable. OH is NOT, but Columbus is under heavy (and late) diversification to stay afloat. I have no info on IN or the cities of WV(which I doubt he'd want to move too)

apply at the local city halls for an inspector position.... your cad experience would be great for building code (plans review officer) or for onsite inspector.... like going to houses and checking shit.... or codes compliance officer....

the pay probly aint the best but hell it would be cool
