1990 honda civic wagovan dx 2wd automatic doo doo brown.
i got the car on a thursday, the following tuesday i drive it out to my parents house to clean and swap out rims and bleed brakes then i drive it back home. the next day, wednesday, i go to drive it back out to my parents house and the car runs like crap! its good in 1st but once it shifts to 2nd, it sputters. i think that its nothing to major so i continue on out to their house. i didn't get 5 miles down the road before the problems increases so bad that the car will not go any faster than 20mph. it seemed like the car was being fed gas one drop at a time with the pedal to the floor. luckily there were a few hills to help me get there.
the car has the stock d15. i thought maybe its the ignition so i put in new wires and plugs and nothing changed.
it has the PGFMI system and i think some of the hoses to the vac system are crossed. can anyone tell me where i can find a diagram on where the lines go? or tell me what the problem might be?

Sounds like something happened between day one and day two. Why would the vac lines be crossed if it ran fine the first day?
Did the car sit for a while before you purchased it?

Did you buy this from Louis (Columbus)? He's a stand-up guy so should be able to help you out - he's a great mechanic too.

i got the car from a friend, luis, i believe it sat for a lil while before he got it and he only had it for a week.
the hoses might have gotten crossed because i started messing with it. i took them off after it was acting up and then i had to buy new lines bc they were nasty and i forgot how they go back.
i'm working on it right now and i'll go check the rotor button, luckily i have an extra in my tool box.
the car turns over once and then cuts off.

yeah luis is a good guy but i cant get him to come out to my parents to help me. im sure a master mind like him would only need like 30 mins tops to resolve the issue.

Check the fuel pressure, could be a pump going out or a clogged filter. Could also be a clooged catalytic convertor. Could also have jumped timing. Good luck with it and post up what you find.

alright i found that the bottom 2 screws were missing from the ditributor but that didnt fix it. also the timing is aligned and problem still persists. ill check the cat, fuel pump and fuel filter tomorrow.

OMG i dropped the tank bc the fuel pump is impossible to get to without dropping it. the fuel pump, tank float, and fuel tank are all rusted like ish. i tried cleaning it out and stuff. still same issue. now it wont prime but i think thats my fault. i also noticed that it was out of gas! feel kind dumb but the gauge would move and was on just about 1/4 tank and was earlier on 1/2 soooo.
i need a gas tank, fuel pump, and sending unit!
what gas tanks are the same as the wagovan?

Its funny I had the same problem with basically the same car. I bought my 90 wagon from a tow yard and it had been sitting.. Your problem was my problem too... I ended up cutting a large hole in the top of my tank, steaming cleaning out the tank and welding the tank back together.. I should have bought a new tank but ol well.. I did replace my fuel pump, sock, and filter.

yep but the tank it self, float, and fuel pump were rusted so bad that when i found out that it was out of gas, it was too late!
now the gas gauge is stuck on full and the fuel pump wont prime!
