WARNING ABOUT BUYING A XBOX 360 YOU WANT TO READ THIS

Hey just wanted to give anyone thinking of buying a 360 used a little heads up.

Recently Microsoft did a sweep and is banning any and all hacked boxes, I have flashed about 12 xbox 360s for friends and all have been banned. Xbox IS NOT BANNING USER ACCOUNTS, THEY ARE BANNING THE BOXES THEMSELVES FROM LIVE.

This being said lots of people are starting to flood the market with used xbox 360s, I STRONGLY recommend making sure you can still log into xbox live before purchasing the 360.

Also do not purchase an open item Xbox 360, banned people have been purchasing New Xbox 360s and swapping out internals and returning the items, so basically its a banned 360 in a new shell.

Just a little heads up, I've already caught a guy trying to pawn one of these banned 360s off on someone else on another forum that I'm a moderator on.

If your fine with not being able to get on xbox live then there is nothing wrong with buying one of these 360s, I now use my modded one as a media center extender, and have purchased a new one to play games online.

And just so you guys know I wasn't pointing out any of the guys that are selling/trading in the forum currently. I personally don't care if you mod it or not, but the way I look at it if you get caught then have the decency to man up and just take the $199 hit. Just trying to look out for my peeps.

Also, you can type in the SERIAL CODE on the back of the xbox and type in to xbox.com and go to support. From there, i believe you go to warranty information and that will tell if you if the xbox has been blacklisted.

If you mod it, don't plug it into a Microsoft affiliated web site or you might find your modded xbox banned forever and possibly disabled. This article doesn't state it, but some xbox consoles have been disabled remotely by Microsoft.

With that being said. If I ever see Bill Gates in the streets I'll be like "yo, Bill Gates, I got my 360 modded bro, consider yourself pwned" and he won't be sure if I'm talking about my hair or not.

microsoft sucks for that, after what Bill Gates did lol (just watched Pirates of The Silicone Valley) very good movie by the way, i never liked any of the xbox controllers personally, had a 360 for like 3 day, a co-worker wanted one and i sold it that same week, now it's all about the ps3, sooooooooooooo much better
