View Full Version : Me vs T67 Supra
My old car club had a meet this other weekend and one of the guys has a T67 singled Supra. The car has all supporting mods including cams and a stand alone AEM engine management system. On pump gas he made 525whp and has managed a
[email protected], on pump as well. He and I got a few runs in towards the end of the meet and my buddy threw them into this video.
Note, the races of he and I begin mid vid-ish.

The runs were from 60-145ish-mph. You will notice no honking...thats because if we went off a 3 honk start, I would jump way out on him since he can't reach full boost in time(even with brake boosting....it isn't a ball bearing turbo). So, I let him brake boost and when I heard him get off the brakes and got WOT, I would hit the gas. This usually ended up with me hitting the throttle right as he reached full boost and made for one hell of a race.

nice runs... was this on the southside? the supra driver looks familiar... does he have an IS300 and mr2 as well?
^ Yes he does and this was in Alabama. I won't race in Ga unless I KNOW the location is deserted with no police activity. The penalties are just not worth it here.

nice runs! its a shame that a 500+ whp supra only runs a 12.3 tho... does he have much seat time in it? i thought surely it'd be an 11 second car.

He doesn't drive or drag the car very much. Made reference to the fact that he only puts ~2k miles on it a year. When he does bring it out, its for meets or for the roadcourse. That car has been around Little Tally numerous times and it throws down very respectable lap times as well(coilovers, etc)

The first dude filming from the Miata is different from the one in the Supra ;), its just the same camera. The guy who edited the video(and who owned the camera) is different from both of those guys and is a good friend of mine...he is just giving me shit for missing a gear since that probably the first time I have missed one in like 5yrs lol.

It was a short compilation video from our meet, it wasn't meant to be just a racing video.

It was and no, I was just too over zealous with the shift. The TR6060 doesn't have the dead zone of the T56 ;)

The LS7 is a dangerous puppy when in capable hands - runs away from a LOT of shit STOCK. It's gotta be the hottest thing moving right now off the shelf.

127 mph trap would suggest the "car" can run 11's. now the question remains if the driver can do it? who knows, he could have been on street tires getting 2.0+ 60 foots...

I can hit 11's with as high as a 2.2s 60', and trap 126.
