Is this even possible? I have a bunch of guys telling me to do it but I really don't know if it can be done. If so is it worth it? :???:

i had a buddy that just did it....suppose to make for a killer franky...you have to have some machine work though..

it really depends on what you want....you can use the crank ect from what he was sayin, but i think it has something to do with the block and the water jacket but ill call him later and ill let you know.

We have done a few here at the shop. There is some decent machine work to be done. My wife had one in her car for over a year with no problems till she popped a coolant hose and didnt realise it and got the head gasket. Will be coming back better however:)

i still am not a fan of it, especially when guys like H22 Jones have an OEM motor making high 220s, rods an pistons making 250+

KEEP IT SIMPLE imo

JJMastertech prob has the money to do the RIGHT machine work and assemble the motor correctly. Too many people look for some magic alternative to buying the H22 or the GSR or the ITR motors and think that slapping a garbage motor with a VTEC head makes for a good engine.

Most of those guys are on sub $1000 budgets just looking to go as fast as possible.

It has been my experience that those people who cant afford the REAL motor, shouldnt build the hybrid motor.

just my .02

I got you^^^, I was just curious thought it was a stretch. Ii just wanna go low 14's or high 13's n/a for as little money as possible. Sohc is what I am currently building but if I can find a DOHC VTEC cheap I'll do it.

your best bet is SOHC turbo. at 7-8 pis you can make 200whp and it SHOULD run those times easily

No boost for me!!! I wanna go N/A boost is over rated to me and everyone is doing it anyway. I figure I can go SOHC and make it pretty cheap. Had a hatch back in the day that went 14.4 SOHC N/A almost stock.
