Hello people! So..after what seems like forever I have a job offer. I will working around Columbus and in five or so counties to the north, south, and east of Columbus. I can pretty much live anywhere in the area. I am from a very small town (Calhoun, GA) but I've lived in Kennesaw for the past few months. I love the fact that Kennesaw is much larger, actually has a few educated people, and has a ton more amenities. It will be few more weeks before I move but I am somewhat apprehensive about moving to Columbus. I've been reading a few forums and looking at demographics, crime rates, ect..and it's hard to distinguish which parts of Columbus I would even want to live. I am expecting my first child in March and my fiance will be at home for quite a while with him. I'm not gonna buy a house, but rather live in extended stay for a few months until we can make a final decision on where to live, but I figured I could come here for a little advice. If you live around the area what would you suggest? I don't even have to live in the city of Columbus, but I want to stay somewhat close. Schools, taxes, neighborhoods...everything matters.

I guess another bit of information that is pretty important is that when I do buy a home, I will be looking in the 120's or something close to that. I'm not so sure on home prices in the counties around there.

Columbus is not bad at all its actually gettin pretty big and as far as the bad parts that is everywhere. I would say live anywhere near northside, hardaway,or jordan highschools as a reference to some normal neighborhoods. Or on the north end of town where its expanding more.

As far as the surrounding counties they kinda suck except harris county and midland
