My question is what are the diff. Heads that will bolt up to a d16z6 block for more power?

Keep that head or do a Y8 head its OBD2 though. All D series are interchangable but your vtec block needs vtec head!! Just build it to make power.

I have a Z6 head on my D16Z6. I have used the Y8 in the past also. Look at the sig.

I would keep the Z6 head mainly for the cam profile and timing setup. You can put a Y8 on it and gain a little compression but that is about it.

i, personally, think the z6 is prob. the best way to go on single cam engines.
instead of getting a new head, upgrade the cam, springs and retainers. it will help out the top end some.

Also the Z6 has a better top end potential due to straight ports.
The Y8 will up the compression slightly but at the cost of offset ports.

boost it , changing heads is a waste of time and money ... throw some real power into that swap
