Why would you upgrade a clutch but keep the stock pressure plate?

yea, its perfectly ok, just make sure the pressure plate is good and the flywheel resurfaced....

I'm not your bro.

And I asked a simple question too.

Why use shitty stock OEM parts? If you're too cheap to do it right, don't do it at all.

To be 110% correct I rather run a stage clutch clutch disc and a stock preasure plate any time...

when you use a stage 3 preasure plate that is when you bust
mounts, axles, and tear trannys apart .....

This is very common among the dsm folks... If everything is in good shape you can do whatever you want...

The only problem with used stock pressure plates is that you dont know if it is 100% and a boosted car builds instantly and will burn a new clutch quick.

WRONG I have built many 350 hp hondas, with stock HONDA pressure plates with stage 2 and 3 disc with no issues.... The reason why most use stock or stock design plate is so you dont tear break everything at the track with slicks...Stage 3 plates hit to hard and rips shit apart

and i mean its just a daily...i was really just really makin sure abt the flywheel

mine ran good up to 250hp till i got tunned and started slipping with the 6 puk disc and stock plate, now making 306hp on same tune with cm fx500 kit and have a fresh fully built ls vtec waiting to go higher. it will work fine but when and if the upgrades keep making more power get a kit.good luck

WHY would you build a 350hp car and use a stock pressure plate?! And notice I said a USED pressure plate. I thought he wanted to reUSE his pressure plate.

guess you cant read i said I have used stock design plates I DIDNT SAY I USE STOCK USED ONES. I love the ACT stock design plate

guess you never launched at 5000 rpms with 24 slicks stage 3 4 5 pressure plates with 300 ish hp?

Guess not... ever broke axles, hubs, control arms??

I have that is why I use NEW stocker design plates... A Good disc will not cause it to slip...

Hell I had stock mild build LS with B16 tranny on drag radials and had a stage 3 clutch set up with stage 3 plate and broke a brand new axle where it meets the hub where the abs ring goes on flush off like it was made out of butter.... that is why I dont like anything that strong because you brake shit

Yeah actually we just broke an axle with our 450+ single cam integra and have gone 9.2's @ 158mph in our shop's civic. You arent tellin me anything that I dont know. I do this every day.

Not trying to start an argument, and not trying to say I know everything but I have a stage 5 in my teg that made 450 whp and I did break one axle. It was due to an error on my part. I pulled into the beams and something happened to the guy in the other lane. They backed him out and told me to go. The next thing I saw the lights dropping and did not preload and ending up twisting the stock axle. First time ever I broke an axle(that was over 850 passes in my lifetime, lol). I use stock replacement axles and a open diff tranny. What breaks axles is driving (or lack of) technique usually. Way back when I was new to the game I did try the stock(new of course) pressure plate with the better than stock clultch disc and I found that the torque of a good tune up caused slippage, especially in higher gear. Of course I was making some decent power. The skinny is that <250 whp the stock pressure plate and stage 2 clutch will be fine, but for over that the extra holding power of a better pressure plate will help out. The stock pressure plate is easier on the axles because there is some slippage involved.

2 years older than you...
*Exits to a more mature thread,* You just use your stock pressure plates while WE make the real power.
Glad you *NO* my boss.
