Ive heard its nice but I would still rather have the A900. Just a few differences but the A900 is still on the top.

If you decide to go back with Canon, Have a look at the 7D I love it. Thinking of selling my 5D mark II.

is the 7D not a 1.6 crop? why would you go from a full frame sensor to a crop sensor? I know that the 7D will have some new features and the wireless transmitter addition is really really cool but you have to have other reasons to like the 7D more right... tell us about it please! ... and thanks.

its 1.6. the added benefit of video on this over the 5d2 is that it shoots 24p.

thats about it.

Well I have both, my 7D is a lot faster. I have more efs lenses. I don't need 3 cameras, I can still sell my Mark II for $2300 no problem and use my 5D mark I, If I really need a full frame. Hope this helps.

that does help... I looked it up and I am pretty much convinced this will be my next purchase. How does it do with high iso images? I would love to get usable shots at 1600 iso.

Video link to pure 7D sexiness that has me wanting one: http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=GetArticleAct&articleID=3066

Not too often, it's my autocross/drift event/motor sport lens, and thoseare usually held on sunny weekends. I usually shoot around F/8 anyway, however on a few rare occasions when I find myself using the lens for something other than broad daylight distance, it is a bit annoying.

And film is fun to play with here and there, has a completely different feel to it, and the pictures look better to me (probably because I spend more time setting up the shot since I have only 24 or 36 exposures per roll) but satin finish paper with a well setup shot, is a beautiful finished product.

It does well with high iso low light shots. I have used it up to 3200 with, virtually no grain reduction needed. Hope this helps!

it does! piss on buying expensive fast glass. being able to bump up the iso without major consequence makes up for shooting through lenses that have good focus capabilities but poor light gathering capabilities.

Hey does anyone in here using the XSI know how to use the BULB shutter speed setting so you dont have hold down the button....

I thought you could just press it once to open and then press again to close but for some reason I have to hold down the button which seems useless... is there an option in the menu for how BULB works that I can change or does it have to be in a certain mode?

oh and... XSI 50f1.8 , kit18-55, next lenses in order --> 70-200f2.8, 24-70f2.8, 10-22f3.5, 100f2.8 macro

Yeah use a remote, corded or not, that you can lock the button down. I it will allow you to leave the shutter open for as long as you ned:goodjob:

canon wants liek $30 for the corded remote and I think more for the cordless, a word to the wise. www.dealextreme.com has super cheap china knockoff shit that works. My corded remote was $5 and looks exactly like the canon one,and works too. It has shutter lock for bulb too. Good luck.

Canon Rebel XS

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM
Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

The 24-105 is on most of the time. I loooove that lens. The top two get the most use. The last two are kit and only get use when I need my camera to be very light for carrying. I'm never happy with the images from them but they work in times I just need to snap quick shots of something trivial.

Nice, thanks. Does anyone hold a camera while the shutter is open for longer than a split second? Doesnt seem to make any sense. Ill be placing my order!

In addition to what was mentioned by sleepyS4, the new autofocus system on the 7D is nice as well. It's fast. There are several different types of selective AF modes to play with so it not only makes the focusing easier and faster but tracking as well.

And I'm currently shooting a 7D with
24-70 2.8L
70-200 2.8L
100 2.8 macro
kit lens

But I want to invest in more primes.

Yeah. It's the all around "do anything" camera. I wanted FF for the longest time but went with the 7D instead. I'm very happy with it for now. FF prices are dropping so we'll see.
