My girls transmission in her '96 Civic is fucking up. Will not shift into 4th period and grinds going into 5th. Anyone know about how much a ex tranny will run me? Is their any good way to tell if a tranny is good? I mean, I know you won't know 100% until its in the car and driving but any clue signs of a faulty transmission?

100-150 bucks used on IA
350-450 used at salvaged yard


inspection, Know someone you know to buy from , or someone others has done bussiness with, or something with a warranty...

buying used its a hit or miss...

I know about the whole hit and miss thing. A buddy of mine bought two tranny's off IA and both fucked up. Finally after the 3rd time found a decent one. You wouldn't happen to have any spare trans laying around, would you?

they only way to truly know what your getting it open it up right in front of the seller. an inspect everything.
