I'd try with finding the leak, and once you find the leak it can tell you what to fix. Most likely would be the headgasket, or if you didnt put any head studs in it, could be some head lift.

it the headgasket

xdavidscenex
11-04-2009, 01:45 PM
the leak is not external so idk how to find the leak if its in the internals? unless i remove the head and im going to i just wanted to get some opinions and stuff. but if its just some collant lines backwards or hooked up wrong on the intake mani witch is blox or on the block could that be the problem?

Black4DrEK

those lines in the back on the mani..

If the one from the Heater core (fire wall) is switched around with the 'U' shaped hose (on mani).. Directly next to it.. If those are switched you have problems

Other than that^ most likely headgasket

headgasket.

You can repair it the right way or use BARS Headgasket leak repair which really works.

its a cracked water jacket in the head, since its a certain cyl.

You either a have a really bad intake manifold gasket (on cyl # 4 where the coolant can pour directly into the cylinder via intake runners) Or you have a crack in a coolant passage in the head(or on spark plug tube I have seen them fill a cylinder this way). Or you can have a severely blown headgasket. Or you may have cracked a sleeve. Depending on tuning, boost pressures would help narrow some of those out.

Should have just left it Supercharged. lolol.

Barefoot

check the intake manifold gasket #4 has that coolant passage right by it.

silversol
11-04-2009, 07:48 PM
since you are pulling the head. check the intake gasket, headgasket and replace them! also how much coolant is getting in? when i cracked a sleve on my boosted ls is would send steam/smoke out the ext like a train!

xdavidscenex
11-04-2009, 08:54 PM

Honestly people don't want my answers because I prefer to explain proper diagnosis and not speculate on possible causes and throw parts at cars.

ok to update everyone.. you all were basically wrong. so was i haha.
the tb gasket was blown so was intake mani gasket and the coolant lines to the throttle body were hooked up wrong :\ so there was coolant all in the intake mani causing it to go into the cyl so im putting it all back together and im going to try it out but im sure if there is coolant in the intake mani flodded with it its not hg or sleeve correct? idk so im asking
