Found this on the web today and thought it was kinda funny.
The Islamic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam) faith has particular rules regarding personal hygiene when going to the toilet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet). This code is known as Qadaa al-Haajah.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-MSA-0)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-IT-1)
Issues of chirality, such as whether one uses the left or right hand and the foot used to step into or out of toilet areas, are derived from hadith (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadith) sources.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-2) The only issue which the Qur'an (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur%27an) mentions is the one of washing one's hands especially following going to the toilet which is mentioned in verse 5:6 (http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Holy_Qur%27an_%28Maulana_Muhammad_Ali%29/5._The_Food#5:6).
Rules
A Muslim must first find an acceptable place away from standing water, or people's pathways or shade.[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-3) They must then enter the area with the left foot,[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-maalik-4) facing neither towards nor away from the Al-Qiblah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Qiblah).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-MSA-0)
While on the toilet, one must remain silent. Talking, answering greetings or greeting others is forbidden.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-MSA-0) When defecating together, two men cannot converse, nor look at each others private parts.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-5) A man should not touch his private parts with the right hand,[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-6) instead using the left hand for touching private parts.[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-Mishkat.2C_1.185-7)[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-8)[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-9)[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-10)[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-11)[13] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-12)
The Islamic prophet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophets_of_Islam) Muhammad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad) specified that one should use an odd number of stones to clean the anal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_cleansing) orifice after defecation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defecation) and then proceed to a different location to wash it with water. Use of toilet paper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet_paper) in place of stones is now thought acceptable, but washing with water is still needed for purity.[14] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-13) When leaving the toilet, one must leave with the right foot,[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-maalik-4) and also say a prayer - "Praise be to Allah who relieved me of the filth and gave me relief."[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette#cite_note-MSA-0)
Can anyone vouch for this?
