Honda VT 500 color choice

Ok, my grandfather and I are restoring a bike together and it will actually be my first bike. Its a Honda VT 500 and I cannot decide on the fender and tank color. The two colors I can't decided between is the original Honda red or a flat matte black. Just wondering what you guys think, throw out any colors. I'm open to everything :D thanks
