View Full Version : Kz550 cafe racer, looks awesome, drives great!

What's up guys.

This is my 1981 KZ550. It runs great, just had the carbs synced and rejetted. Open Pod style filters. New motor with only 8,000 miles, and has been gone through and checked for problems. Brand spanking new back tire, and the front tire is still good for another season. I have all sorts of paper work, clean title, spare parts and manuals/diagrams.

The only thing it doesn't have is a front brake. To install it all you need is the master cylinder. The caliper and disc is all there. I bought it that way and just never used it.

If you want to look good and draw some attention, then this is definitely the bike to do it. I always get thumbs up and looks when riding. I've honestly just lost interest in it, it seems like I trade for something else every season.

I'm open to trades! Any motorcycle. No junk, please only things in tip top running condition. I like bobbers, anything classic or vintage, motards, cruisers. Not really into gixxers or things like that, but I'm always up for offers. Lets see what you have!

If you'd like to purchase the bike, it's 1800 OBO!

I know, I know. I got it with it on there. It's just a sticker though, easy to remove.

Oh it thought it might have been painted. Shouldn't be too big of a problem unless its been on there forever.

Eh, I don't really neeed to sell it. It'd just be nice to have a built motor in the L. I have another bike, so this one's just a toy. I could probably swing 2500, but that's about it.

Stumbled upon this forum while looking for some parts for my new KZ 550 Cafe!

I bought this bike for my husband for xmas and it's SWEET! Got the front brake put on with no problem. He's ridden it twice so far in between the freezing ass cold and craptastic rain we've been having in North GA.

She purrrrrs like a kitten and scats like a cheetah! Couldn't be happier with it!

Now, anyone know where I can find a few parts???..... making a few modifications..... already got the lowering kit ordered, now possibly looking for some different handlebars which will bring them up and closer to the rider, one of the side covers was missing, so looking for one of those as well....any suggestions appreciated!
