The Event


We are hosting a Time Trial/ Track Day at Little Talladega in Alabama. The event will be December 12, 2009. Anyone is welcome from the novice, to the hardcore track enthusiast. This event will be for Toys for Tots and we ask for each person running in the event to bring 2 unwrapped toys (one boy and one girl). Track will open at 8AM CST. We would like to have the first car ON TRACK at 8:30AM. Please be on time and prepared. Food will be free for lunch during the event. There will be 7 run groups ranging for beginner to advanced and each person will be placed accordingly.

*There will be a max limit of 60 cars for the event, so please register as soon as possible

Rules and Tech (http://i-track.weebly.com/rulesforms.html)- Please go over the two forms listed on this page. We will be holding a tech inspection the morning of the event. Make sure you and your car are prepared.

Last time I went (event was by the owners, not a lease) it was 4 off once and lose your passenger privilege. 4 off twice and you're done. I think the event hosts get some lee-way with rule making though.

That is what it was last time I was there too. If you put all 4 wheels off twice, your done for the day.

That shouldn't scare any of you. Some evnts at Road Atlanta TWO OFF counts as a four off and do that TWICE you're done for the day. If you're going off four times in one day something is wrong.

Serious Question. Who is going? We ve got four people curious to know who is going, and for the people deciding to bail, are they getting their money back??? Im 100% game for a good cause, I would just like to know about possibility of rescheduling, etc. I want to go and make a day of it for the young'ns, but I also want to get the most of the event? Thoughts....I know its late and can make for a festering pot of sores to change anything. Im sure David at the track would be super kewl with it. Help me, amigos.

Someone had recently mentioned that Mattapm should talk to Umairjaz about trying to git r done the same day. I know that the point of the other event is to MAXIMIZE track time, but what if the two were merged together to make good for a track day and toys fer tots day, it could satisfy a lot of people. You could use the money from this event to help fund the next. Just a thought. Not expecting any materialization.

I hate to have a event in the rain. At the same time, you will learn a LOT about car control, your car, and increase your driving ability.

I would like to move the event to another date, but this is not possible. Sorry.

BTW, they are closed and wont answer the phones now. Its a little late to change the date of the event. If we had decided to do this a week ago, maybe it could have been done.

This isnt the last event we will be hosting for this price. Just try not to look at the event as a sloppy, rainy event, and look at it like a learning tool to improve yourself.

According to the weather channel app. On my iPhone if you look at the hourly forcast.

From hourly looks like the bad stuff won't hit until lunch time. You all it's just rain lol. Wet track time is GREAT to learn a LOT about car control, plus it's easier on your car. You may think there is less room for error but the speeds are lower.

ps: I was in the gray Z. I ended up doing only 3 sessions because apparently the rear brakes are notoriously weak and I ended up eating through the rear pads down to the metal . Part of the problem was me as I'm pretty unfamiliar with the car and I was probably holding onto the brakes a lil longer than I should've, but I did get more comfortable with the car as the day went on. Thanks for hosting the event, hope to see you guys at the next one.
