$50,000 Ultima GTR Shatter Top Gear Lap Record

British supercar manufacturers and multiple world speed record holders Ultima Sports Ltd have this week smashed Michael Schumacher's £1million Ferrari FXX track car lap record on the circuit as used by Top Gear TV with their Ultima GTR720 road car.

The Ultima GTR720 recorded a blistering 1min 9.9secs lap time, which demolishes the previous record of 1min10.7secs set by seven-time world Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher in his Ferrari FXX track car. To put things into perspective the Ultima is almost 10 seconds per lap faster than the fastest road car that Ferrari produces which is the renowned £450,000 Enzo.

Well they took the FXX off the top due to it not running on the proper tires. I also wouldn't say demolish more like creeped.

To add. I have always wondered why Top Gear hasn't ever put the Ultima on their show. It's not like they dislike kit cars as the Caterham has been there.

Really a mystery to me. I feel the Gumpert is still the official king of the board since it used "streetable" tires where the FXX was on race slicks. (Because the FXX is a race car)

As a road car though, the Zonda F Roadster is the best of the list in the overall for me considering overall driving experience while still keeping a somewhat comfortable interior. I mean...look!

That is an armrest, an emergency (or hand) brake, and a manual gear shift.

Zondas are in one word a "masterpiece",i love those cars so much and it is pretty amazing the roadster only weighs like 20 pounds more than the coupe.

those cars blow away anything ferrari or lambo as put out in awhile.
