This just dropped from the metal kings of Savannah and they're coming here in December.
Stop reading right now if you're a fan of all of these sound-alike metalcore bands like Five Finger Death Punch, August Burns Red, Hollywood Undead, Bullet for My Valentine, and whatever else Hot Topic is pushing.
But if you like metal striving to be more than the recent barrage of untalented bullshit that all sounds the same, check these guys out. You can sing along to some songs, hum along to others, scream along to the rest. Very diverse vocals, guitar effects, and songwriting. I find it very hard to categorize this album because it has elements of so many musical styles, though overall it is definitely metal.
Baroness' Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/yourbaroness) - I recommend checking out 'The Sweetest Curse', 'Jake Leg', and 'Swollen and Halo'. Most of the new album can be streamed on their myspace.
I'd give the album a 5/5 but it kinda drags on to the end so it gets a 4/5. Its one of the best metal albums I've heard in a while, but I'll be one to admit that I'm not as into the scene as I used to be.
