There is no H in VTEC

But if your doing it for something your gonna drive all the time i wouldnt do it IMO there just not as reliable as a factory vtec engine...unless they are done right but then you have spent almost enuff to buy a "vtec" swap.....y0

good luck anyway...

Well when Moses came down from the mountaintops he said "..let there be V ariable Valve T iming and E lectronic Lift C ontrol." and it was good..damn good the on downside was that it creates good HP numbers but torquesless wonders... Fast forward to a few years ago.. Some guy living in his parents garage, eating Cheez-Wiz in a can decided to create a Frankenstein engine consisting of his boys old Integra engine bottom and the head of a B16 from some hotties now crashed Civic (they never hooked up). Really because at the time GSR swaps cost too much. The beefed torque of the LS bottom and the higher flowing and revving head that included this VTEC phenomenon..The part kinda matched up but there was no oil return..so he had his cousin on his other brothers side machine the engine so the oil could flow properly. After hours of sweat and tears and a pint of blood lost, he placed the monster in his EF hatch. Turned her over and WHAM!!!! nothing.. checked the VTEC soleinoid and viola the LS/VTEC was born. The monster only lived for 8,000 miles because the now power hungry owner wanted to push the monster to a 9000 rpm limit on a daily basis. The story is bogus but the acronyms and the general theory behind the LS/VTEC is true. If you are on a tight budget and really want o do this, save some more and get the engine worked on. Machine the bottom, invest in some rods and pistons, (possible sleeving). GET GOLDENEAGLE CONVERSION kit for the oil lines. If you do this right and take care of the engine, it should last. I have one in my Civic and you can tell the difference between it and the stock B16A2 (Civic Si) and even the 2002-2005 Civic Si with the K20A3. Do it wrong or try to abuse the engine, look out for expensive repair bills and alot of walking...

if you dont kno anything about lsvtec dont do it but im about 2 build my third one for a hatch now and the other 2 i had i sold along with the cars but in my opinion are the best that and b20 vtec if u have intake ,headers ,exzaust, valves, valves springsand retainers, and a chipped computer that revs at 10g(rpm) that will be serious enought put block gaurd and steel braided line for the oil line and well maintain it and u should have no problems but thats just my opinion
