I have a Jennings 380 that I've had for about 5-6 years now and I like it ok, but it is a bigger handgun. It isn't often that I carry it on me and the main reason is because of it's size. Mainly because it is bulky and heavy so that it pulls down on my waistband.

My question is simple: What would be a decent, inexpensive handgun that is more palm size and not so bulky, yet staying around a 380 or .38 or something?

Thanks. Later, QD.

Any of the J-frame or K-frame revolvers that S&W make are pretty god for carry.

$10-20. Tops.

No. Can I get something worthwhile in the couple hundred dollar range? I ask because I have no idea. I do know that guns can be and do get expensive. But I don't want to put a lot of money into one. Later, QD.

Taurus Millennium, you could probably find one for about $350

For an excellent sub-compact auto...look to spend around $500

if you want to go cheap you may want to look into revolvers

personally my favorite subcompact is this

the springfield XD9 sub-compact, but its around $500

I would check into some of the Kel Tec's, QD. I've heard good things but have no first hand experience so take it for what it's worth.

Ruger LCP is pretty cool.

Kahr makes a pretty compact one, but it's sometimes a bit pricy.

Taurus PT111, although in 9mm, can be had for very cheap.

The defunct Star/Firestar makes some really compact guns all the way up to .45 cal and are very cheap too, IF you can find them. I saw one on another site for $250 in the 9mm model.

Taurus also has many small 5 shot revolvers that can be had used for cheap.

Just FYI, I can direct you to a website where you can find these and many more. Your likely min budget needs to come up a little though. It's going to be tough finding something worth shooting for $200, but you can find them for $250-300-350 rather easily.

Let me know and I'll point you in the right direction. :goodjob:

Thanks for the tips, fellas. I'll definitely keep an eye on this. Unfortunately it may be a minute before I hop on this as my car is my first priority when I go back to work. Later, QD.

Get a Kel-Tec .380, they are great handguns. My father has had one for 2 years now and has never cleaned it "idk y he hasnt' and it fires every time and cycles the rounds great. If you just want a belly gun then that would be your best bet. But IMO if I'm gonna need to carry a gun I'd go 1911 .45. Thats just me though.

Heres a pic of the Kel-Tec.

Kel-Tec would be a good choice, They are small and fairly cheap, and I hear nothing but good things about them...

I'm going to want to get rid of the handgun I have now before I get another. Help with the cost of another gun. Later, QD.

yeh get a half plastic/polymer one. i got a jennings j22 i bought to shoot for fun in the back yard, and its like half the size of your .380 and it weighs about as much as my glock 23C. I've owned the taurus millenium, ok gun but it does sweat rust a whole lot just being in the car in the heat, i say for a couple hundred, go for Ruger or Keltec or maybe even a Walther P99??
