ok i have a boosted z6 that gave out on me and threw a rod bearing, im looking at getting a d16y8 but i know that their compression is different, my tune is on the z6 does anyone know if it will be ok to just throw the y8 in and ride with it for awhile till i can get it tuned?

yeah the guy i got the car from was a good friend and he told me it would be going soon but didnt think that soon lol.. i have the money for both i just want to put it in this weekend and then get it tuned on thursday or friday of next week but ill need the car for work thats the only reasone why i ask if it would be good lol..

well the y8 comes stock with 3 more HP then the z6.. but it dont matter it put down 230.. plus i plan on rebuilding the z6 for turbo lol

Do that man, just get the y8, put the turbo kit on it and drive it for alittle and get it tuned. And build that z6 and swap em' out. Then build the y8 when the z6 goes out again.

u can install the kit and everything then just run 0 boost till its retuned. better safe than sorry.

Just keep your foot off the gas, taking the wastegate spring out could damage the wastegate and will be annoying. Put around until you can get your tune checked out. Ps I told you it was knocking :P.

stay out of boost...back the timing off a little at the dist. timing scheme of y8 is totally different.
