The correct order is wash, clay, wax remover, polish, wax. If you polish last your removing the wax you just put on.

yeah but i would imagine that the equipment and chemicals at the car wash are not what you would consider a detail. Unless you clay barred, actually polished it with a DA or Rotary, then waxed it....
